Utility Manager The Utility Manager leads and develops a staff of supervisors to ensure timely and accurate repair of equipment within the budget utilizing TPM tools, increasing overall maintenance competencies.
Duties: Lead and direct the activities of our Facilities Group (Utility Supervisor, hourly facility mechanics and hourly utility workers) and our Ammonia Refrigeration/Factory utilities Group (Supervisor, Technicians etc..) Creates high performance work teams in the refrigeration department that will use root cause problem solving methods to resolve issues. Develop department by overseeing hiring, conducting performance reviews, providing coaching and training to staff members. Manage the daily operations and maintenance of all site ammonia refrigeration equipment in 3000 ton Ammonia systems. Manage the maintenance of our fresh water systems, industrial waste systems, compressed gases generation (air and nitrogen), primary power infrastructure and our fire systems. Manager the predictive maintenance activities on the plant electrical switchgear as well as the large rotating machinery. Plan/schedule all equipment repairs and schedule/execute required PM?s through the use of a computerized maintenance management system. Coordinate and interface with construction planning activity as required for system expansions/upgrades: plan capital investment improvements through the Plant Engineer and the Project Engineering Manager. Participate in required PSM/RMP planning activities and operate ammonia plant with compliance to our RMP plans. Plan and execute process improvement projects utilizing your utilities maintenances team Lead/coordinate the forklift management program and the site recycle program with the Plant Engineer. Lead/coordinate environmental compliance/reporting with the Plant Engineer.
Minimum requirements: - 6 to 10 years in Maintenance Management that includes experience in Equipment, Facilities and Utilities maintenances. -3-5 years as in a Management role. -Understanding the layout and design of plant utilities, ammonia and refrigeration systems. -Assist in the installation and pump down of the refrigeration systems -RETA certification as an Ammonia operating engineer a plus; solid working knowledge of ammonia and Freon refrigeration a must. -Must be familiar with RMP and PSM regulations as they pertain to ammonia refrigeration/environmental knowledge as it pertains to HAZOP/Hazardous material handling a plus. -Basic knowledge of the NFPA section 25 fire code required -Maintenance knowledge of compressed gas equipment and water systems a must. -Basic computing skills including MS Word, MS Excel, the ability to use a computer maintenance system (CMMS) and the ability to operate a computer controlled temperature monitoring system required. -Knowledge of Kronos system for payroll reporting processes
