The Vice President and Chief Pharmacy Officer (VP/CPO) is a member of the senior leadership team atMercyMedicalCenter. The purpose of this position is to organize, develop, implement and direct operations of assigned areas, programs, pharmaceutical services ofMercyMedicalCenter. Accountabilities include participation in and support of the strategic and business planning process, implementation of plans and provision of consulting services to programs within the medical center. The VP/CPO is responsible for developing the pharmacy division goals; to plan, implement, and evaluate standard and practices for pharmaceutical care and to oversee the delivery of high quality and cost effective pharmaceutical services. Specifically, this individual is responsible for leading, developing, and supporting pharmaceutical services across all medical center departments. The VP/CPO will participate in goal setting, budget preparation, and analysis, as well as program development with the senior management team, medical staff and others as appropriate. The VP/CPO will work with the SVP of Human Resources regarding recruitment and retention of Pharmacy personnel. The VP/CPO is accountable for the Strategic Corporate Priorities as they relate to the Pharmacy department within the framework of Mercy'sMissionand our values. EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: Must possess a Bachelor's of Science or Pharm.D. degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy; Master's degree preferred. Five (5) years of clinical and management experience required. Demonstrated ability in effective communication, problem solving, leadership, conflict management, motivation and change management. Proven success in developing and motivating staff and team building while accomplishing key strategic objectives. Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate at all levels of an organization. Must be licensed as a Pharmacist in the State of Maryland.
