Vice President Financial Aid & Student Finance

POSITION:  Reporting to the Vice President, Student Experience the VP, Financial Aid & Student Finance will provide the leadership and management of a consumer lending program and financial aid operations that meets goals and objectives in alignment with the company’s core values.


 


 


 


RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Vice President, Financial Aid & Student Finance is responsible for the management of a consumer lending program to support the company’s mission to support all qualified individuals interested in attending the company’s schools and programs.  He/She will direct student lending programs and portfolios, develop student finance policies and procedures, maintain compliance with all federal, state and regulatory requirements, and manage internal and external portfolio risk and profitability.

Typical Responsibilities Include: 



  • Directs student lending programs and portfolios, develops student finance policies and procedures, maintains compliance with all federal, state and regulatory requirements, and manages internal and external portfolio risk and profitability.

  • Identifies all areas of opportunity and implements necessary changes to streamline processes and functions to strengthen the student experience and improve operating metrics related to Financial Aid.

  • Develops and executes a long-term plan for achieving the company's strategic financial and growth objectives. Directs and manages departmental teams to accomplish strategic objectives.

  • Create high performance culture where leadership and staff are accountable for performance, outcomes and achieving organization goals.

  • Directs consumer loan-based transactions and monitors and evaluates current student lending program performance against service and rate targets and makes program corrections when necessary

  • Maintains market intelligence required to develop new student financing sources and negotiates rates and terms that represent market competitive lending and rate opportunities for students and the Company.

  • Develops implements and monitors the company's policies and procedures related to the financial aid and student lending program to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and regulatory requirements.

  • Other duties as assigned.


 


 


 


EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:           


Our client seeks an individual with at least five or more years of demonstrated success in student facing financial aid experience with at least two years at the Director level or higher. The successful candidate will have five or more years in consumer loan portfolio risk and profitability management, along with development of portfolio securitization strategies, pricing and third party risk sharing practices/transactions.  Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing credit and collection processes using third party collection services.


 
A bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required. An MBA is preferred.
