Description
Fidelity Investments Institutional Services (FIIS) provides investment management services through investment professionals at financial institutions nationwide, including wirehouses, regional and independent broker/dealers, banks, trust companies and insurance companies. The company offers Fidelity Advisor Funds, Variable Insurance Product (VIP) Portfolios, systematic investment plans, institutional money market funds and a comprehensive line of retirement products and services. The Investment Director position within the Investment Consulting Services (ICS) group is a client facing role that serves to represent Fidelity's investment expertise in the advisor distribution channel. This role serves as the primary client-facing investment interface to our advisor clients and their clients (shareholders). The candidate should have a very strong investment background with strong communication skills. A knowledge of advisor distribution is helpful as well as an ability to handle required significant Travel: responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
* Act as the primary client-facing investment interface to our advisor clients, serving a key function of representing our investment management expertise in the field
* Travel with wholesaling staff throughout the U.S. to deliver presentations primarily on capital markets topics.
* Develop a keen awareness of how each of the portfolios within Fidelity's vast array of investment products is managed and what current thinking and positioning is in the portfolio. Speak with advisor clients about these specific funds.
* Build relationships across both external clients (advisors, shareholders, boards of trustees, due diligence analysts, etc.) and internal clients (wholesalers, sales management, relationship management, etc.).
* Collaborate and partner with ICS staff and other investment professionals.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
* 10+ years investment related experience and a background in Finance, Economics or Marketing
* Series 6/7 and 63 required
* CFA or MBA preferred
Skills and Knowledge
* Must be able to gain instant recognition by clients as an investment expert
* Demonstrated investment acumen and capital markets knowledge
* Superior communication skills
* Must be able to work in a team environment with strong investment professionals
