Vice President of Visual Merchandising
The Vice President of Visual Merchandising is responsible for establishing a high level of brand image in all levels of global visual merchandising communication, as well as protecting the brand through consistent creative process and direction. S/he is responsible for creating and managing all window display, in store merchandising and new store opening programs globally for Donna Karan Company owned stores. S/he is responsible for the creation and development of educational materials for the Donna Karan Company owned stores, as well as franchise stores and wholesale shops and corners. S/he manages the Creative Programs department, as well as the retail visual display and operating expenses budgets for Creative Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Brand Marketing
- Define the brand image globally in all aspects of visual merchandising and brand communication, ensuring consistency and brand integrity is achieved at all times, while supporting selling and profit objectives.
Visual Merchandising
- Create and define process and guidelines for window display, visual merchandising and new store opening programs for Donna Karan Company owned stores, franchise and wholesale key accounts.
- Create and develop visual merchandising criteria and standards to maximize sales and maintain the Donna Karan brand image at the highest level.
- Create all educational materials, including visual merchandising manuals, product knowledge, and new store opening manuals and training tools.
- Create and develop the global Retail Calendar in partnership with merchandising and store operations.
- Create and develop visual merchandising Policy and Procedure.
- Manage the Creative Programs Department.
- Manage the Creative Services retail and operating expense budget.
- Develop a close relationship with the merchandising department to ensure all visual endeavors are strategic, while still maintaining the highest level of image.
Marketing
- Develop a close relationship with the marketing department to provide a consistent and focused link between marketing and P.R. activities in the stores.
- Manage the in-store marketing event process, ensuring all concepts and visual materials are on brand.
Operations & Planning
- Manage weekly/ monthly planning calendars for departmental projects.
- Lead weekly meetings with operations, merchandising, marketing and creative services to ensure all visual merchandising objectives are met and are in line with business objectives.
Training
- Manage the store training program for both the retail and wholesale business.
