Gerson Lehrman Group is looking for a highly talented VP Product to lead the design, development, and operation of the company’s online social and mobile products. The position is critical to the success of our innovative new suite of consumer-facing online services. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and product teams for Gerson Lehrman Group’s professional networking site G+ (). * Be an advocate for the user and help build experiences that place usability and interaction as the highest goals. * Lead ideation and rapid prototyping cycles to raise overall product quality and engagement. * Work with media content groups, marketing, and enterprise product stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of requirements to product design teams. * Develop and implement strategies for user group product-testing, working closely with market research. * Work closely with program managers and engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum development framework comprising multiple agile teams worldwide. Required Skills:
* Exceptional ability to communicate verbally and in writing with developers, product managers, program managers, and executives. * 6-8 years experience in product management leadership at consumer facing organizations with high-engagement online products. * 4+ years of experience with the agile development/SCRUM methodology and how it can be applied to online product design and development. * Passion for and understanding of the components of interactive design and incentive mechanics that lead to energized and engaged communities. * Willingness to be hands-on, and apply an intuitive sense of user behavior. * 4yr bachelors degree (B.S. or B.A.). * Sense of humor, and confidence in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous business environment.
Preferred Skills
* Direct experience as a product manager for online or mobile products aimed at high-end or executive users. * Direct experience in the daily operation of a highly-available online service. * Working knowledge of Agile development tools such as Basecamp and Rally.
