Overview:
A Vice President, Studio Director spearheads Blue Diesel's overall relationship and service delivery for a portfolio of client accounts (i.e. a "studio"). Critical to those responsibilities is the ongoing leadership and evolution of the studio's collective capability across all domains. The Studio Director is responsible for creating an environment, through his/her own inspiration and motivation, where the talents and abilities of all studio members – Client Services, Creative, Strategy and Technology – can flourish and grow, doing so in ways that enable the creation of valuable solutions for our clients, all while simultaneously driving profitable business performance for Blue Diesel.
This executive leadership position collaborates with the studio's domain leadership to direct and manage Blue Diesel's services including development and execution of interactive strategy and marketing initiatives that drive client business objectives. S/he demonstrates leadership skills to ensure the studio understands key customer and business insights, and crafts appropriate marketing solutions. This leader must be adept at driving these results through the studio team, while also being able to step into service delivery roles individually, as required by specific circumstances.
This position is responsible for the operational management of all account and project teams from all required disciplines as it pertains to servicing clients. Ensuring client satisfaction is key to this responsibility – as such, the Studio Director is expected to "own" senior level client relationships and to develop a multi-tiered approach for ensuring strong relationships are developed at all levels within the client organization, especially leveraging the studio's Client Services team and executive management to do so. From a financial perspective, responsibilities include appropriate staffing and utilization considerations to ensure service delivery and achievement of organizational growth and financial goals as defined with the Blue Diesel executive team. The Studio Director is responsible for all studio members – regardless of specific domain – as it pertains to managerial and administrative aspects, with a strong focus on career development and mentoring. S/he will have direct managerial responsibility for assigned Client Services personnel and will report to the Senior Vice President, Client Services.

Description of Duties:
* Manages studio financials, operations and growth to achieve key financial and performance objectives, developed in conjunction with executive management; generally, this equates to approximately $3 to 5 million in annualized revenue
* Ensures superior delivery of services across all clients within the studio, actively participating in strategic initiatives with senior client staff; serves as a point of mentorship, escalation, and overall quality assurance for all studio activities
* Develops and maintains senior level relationships with clients and other partners; ensures similar development of appropriate relationships at levels within the studio and client organizations
* Partners with studio's domain leadership to ensure domain expertise is appropriately applied to specific client engagements and opportunities
* Ensures financially sensible utilization of staff and resources, balanced with growth in the studio's client portfolio and volume of work at any point in time
* Manages studio growth ensuring team members long term career development needs are addressed
* Conducts and oversees performance management activities for Client Service team members within the studio
* Actively participates in annual and periodic strategic planning processes with the executive management team, to include topics such as business growth and operational excellence, as well as cultural and organizational development
* Develops business organically within studio's client portfolio; partners with executive management to develop business with new clients
* Leads the studio's efforts to develop unique, sustainable points of differentiation for the studio's capabilities, processes, strategies, etc., as applied to interactive within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry
* Continuously leads Blue Diesel in the development of best practices to be shared across studios
* Collaborates with other Blue Diesel studio leads to drive synergy and cross training for new business opportunities as well as in servicing current clients
* Focuses on studio development and operations, while also fostering and acting on a broader sense of responsibility to the organization as a whole
* Effectively balances both short and long term decision making to ensure all aspects are best optimized for both now and the future

Minimum Requirements:
*
8-10+ years of integrated, interactive marketing program development and execution – combined agency and client side experience an asset
*
5-7+ year's agency experience, preferred
*
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) required. Masters degree a plus
*
Demonstrable success managing senior level client relationships
*
Strong knowledge and proven application of marketing strategy development, interactive technology, new business development, and project management
* Solid understanding of all aspects of interactive marketing, including strategy, creative and technology
*
Well-rounded general business management skills and abilities, including operational and financial management experience
*
Strong written and verbal communication skills
*
Ability to lead and manage clients and team members within a matrix organization
*
Strong interpersonal/people management/collaboration skills
*
Excellent planning/organizational skills
*
Solid understanding of healthcare/pharmaceutical marketing principles and processes
* A passion for interactive marketing and the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry, as evidenced by a history of on-going effort to stay abreast of and provide thought leadership for either or, ideally, both of these industries
* Proficient in MS Office technologies
