Reporting Relationships:

The Vice President of Consumer & Shopper Marketing-Hendry Market Structures will report to the Senior Vice President in charge of Hendry Sales & Account Management. The Senior Vice President reports to the General Manager of the Hendry business. The General Manager reports to the President of the Consumer & Shopper Business segment. Mr. Tomei reports to the Chief Executive Officer of the global SymphonyIRI organization.

Responsibilities:

The acquisition of the Hendry Group has given SymphonyIRI and its Consumer & Shopper Marketing business segment powerful and proprietary market structure methodology, software, simulation and forecasting capabilities that are proven and unparalleled in the industry. The Vice President will play a pivotal role with regard to integrating the Hendry business with the broader SymphonyIRI organization and driving Hendry sales initiatives across multiple clients competing in multiple categories.

The Vice President will take analysis output and turn it into insight that will have material impact on client strategy. He/she will be heavily involved with the market structure hypothesis development and simulation execution. There is little doubt that the consumer landscape will be materially different upon emergence from recent economic events. The Vice President will be in prime position to assist their clients navigate through the challenges of today while positioning them for the landscape of the future.

Client business issues include those related to re-positioning existing brands, driving the development and introduction of line extensions and new product innovation/launch. Areas of client interface include Consumer Insights, Brand Management, Product Innovation, Finance and Marketing.
While activities will vary, the Vice President can expect to spend approximately 30% of their time working directly in front of clients and taking a consultative approach to solving complex client issues. This will involve extensive needs assessment, framing the problem within a project framework, integrating client input into hypothesis development, keeping the client informed on project status and finally, presenting the insight to the client, often validating a given hypothesis that a client would not have believed without the proof provided within the Hendry approach. Of their remaining time, 30% will be allocated to working with simulations and crafting impactful presentations; 20% will be spent on guiding projects and 20% will involve learning-mastering over time the incorporation and application of the Hendry approach.

The Vice President will initially be an individual contributor but will succeed through internal cross-function collaboration. He/she will work closely with the broader Consumer & Shopper Insights team, the Modeling & Analytic Solutions group, Client Solutions(on-site client teams), Technology, Product Management, Consulting & Innovation, and theGlobalOperationsCenterinBangalore,India.

Requirements:
- Ten or more years of experience incorporating theconsultativeapplication of multiple data types including longitudinal panel, Point-Of-Sale data or loyalty/customer data. Experience must be within one or more of the following types of companies:
- Quantitative market research supplier
- A Credit Scoring company
- A top tier consulting company
- A Shopper Marketing/loyalty research supplier or consultancy
- A proven capacity to incorporate and creatively apply modeling methodology to Consumer Products Goods(CPG) business issues. Econometric modeling experience is preferred. Market structure modeling experience is ideal
- An insights orientation versus fixation of a single type of data; proven skills synthesizing multiple data streams into a cohesive and actionable story
- Proven expertise in contemporary consumer trends and the skill to create anticipatory best-in-class solutions/Insights
- The poise and presence to present impactfully to multiple business functions and levels of leadership with relevance and credibility
- Exceptional ability to partner with multiple internal resource groups
- Excellent project management skills to manage multiple projects concurrently leveraging local and remote resources
- Proven skills/business-savvy to self-prioritize projects within a fast moving and occasionally ambiguous environment; a comfort making firm decisions with 70% of the facts in-hand
- Skilled at presenting technical subject matter to non-technical audiences
- A four-year undergraduate degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred
