Position Responsibilities

The Director / VP of Operations is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Center for Sales Excellence. These responsibilities span the functions of the entire organization from education to operations and span the SunGard Financial Services team made up of 1000+ sales people, 200+ members of the product management team and 140 marketing personnel Responsibilities within the role include the following:
o Executive Interaction: Supports and sometimes manages executive interaction on the SVPs behalf across SunGard. Responsible for a complete view of the CfSE activities, metrics and performance, and the impact to each segment. Assertively / diplomatically promotes CfSE agenda and demonstrates the organizations contribution with supporting quantitative and qualitative metrics.
o Education: Works weekly with the sales education team (i.e. Sales Academy) to make sure the three month agenda is well defined. Whenever necessary supports the organization by attending / representing the education team during scheduled learning events. In addition helps manage the education curriculum, training logistics, and supporting information. During management transition periods may also be asked to actively manage the program. Finally responsible for defining the organization performance metrics and demonstrating the contribution / return-on-investment of the program.
o Enablement: Works with marketing and product managers across SunGard to build / support an enablement framework. Responsible for extended learning for all of SunGard Financial Systems(i.e. product / service propagation). In addition responsible for identifying segment wide sales enablement opportunities (could include RFP or contract database, etc). Finally responsible for the logical compilation of knowledge related assets and the adoption of selected sales enablement tools.
o Productivity: Tracks organizational sales productivity across segments. Identify areas for improvement at a SunGard wide level as well as at the segment level and works with sales executives to improve results. This would include lead and opportunity management / progression. Responsible for identifying other productivity enhancement opportunities and working with segments to bring about adoption. Develop, implement and value the productivity impact of various initiatives to improve the long term development of SunGard Financial Systems.
o Operations: Manages the sales and marketing operations team on a day-to-day basis. This includes capacity management to make sure the team does not get over extended. Develop an overall operations roadmap / plan. In addition help the VP of sales and marketing operations negotiate favorable terms with all associated vendors (i.e. , ExactTarget, etc). Outside of these core duties responsible for developing a comprehensive CfSE web presence and marketing plan. Responsible for quantitative reporting in relation to the CfSE with respect to resources, initiatives and growth. Finally responsible for the annual development and management of the CfSE budget.

Position Requirements

o Proficient diplomatic and communication skills.

o Knowledge of products, solution or service offerings as well as competitor's offerings.
o Large team / project management capabilities.
