VP/SVP, Account Director, Brand Marketing
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for daily management of assigned accounts, including staff deployment and utilization, staff coaching and nurturing, revenue generation, expense control, income projections and administrative functions related to executing client programs and to meeting profit objectives. Experience working across the digital media spectrum and a working knowledge of the digital/social media landscape is preferred. Ideal candidate is someone with experience in the consumer technology, retail, and direct-to-consumer categories. Experience leading the day-to-day operations of an account with billings in excess of $2M and an account team commensurate with those budgets and proven ability to work with large, multi-national organizations is a must.
Specific Responsibilities:
* Serve as senior contact and counselor for clients, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of clients' business; develop strategy for implementing successful PR and marketing programs. Responsible for developing, maintaining and growing key relationships with clients beyond just the management of their business; meet regularly with clients to assure their satisfaction relative to quality and service. * Provide strategic guidance to clients on an ongoing basis; anticipate and address client needs. Troubleshoot clients' problems as they arise; seek senior management and other innovative resources' input whenever appropriate for gold-standard client service. * Explore and create incremental business opportunities with existing clients. * Function, if needed, as a key player in pursuing new business opportunities and in leading the proposal and presentation processes. * Stay on top of news and PR trends in the industry; bring them to the attention of clients and associates, as appropriate. * Work with Associate Director and other members of the Brand Marketing senior team in the general administration of the operating unit. * Establish and carry out company policy, philosophy and overall business marketing plans. * Reinforce Ketchum values, ethics, culture and critical success factors. * Demonstrate and continually develop presentation, negotiation and problem-solving skills. Exhibit strong communication and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas and present programs to clients, colleagues and other marketing partners. * Demonstrate ability to effectively develop full range of materials including media materials, byline articles, speeches, client correspondence and reports. * Assist and guide senior managers in areas such as staff utilization, recruitment, employee goal setting, development plans, etc. * Maintain contact with staff to effectively evaluate their capabilities and performance. * Report to AD when staff deserves recognition, whether positive or negative. * Work with human resources in the appropriate handling of personnel matters, management of issues and organizational development. * Work with financial manager to ensure client budgets are comprehensive, actual costs are monitored and approved, and billed accounts receivables are collected in a timely fashion. Manage account financials including creating accurate budget estimates, budget allocation and control, time sheets, client billing, supplier invoicing and purchase orders; ensure team billability and account profitability. * Begin to build a leadership role in outside organizations to increase Ketchum's visibility in marketplace and create new business opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would qualify. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
* Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field. * Master's degree in a communications field desirable. * At least ten years of agency experience or the equivalent in a corporate background. * Broad based exposure to all skill areas including proposal planning, writing and presentations, media relations, and consultative selling. * Proven track record in growing business. * Direct experience in building and managing teams composed of professional and non-exempt personnel.
