The Opportunity:Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, creative, and detail-oriented individual for our Web Designer position. If you are looking for an opportunity to build new and modify existing website content so SEL technology can be better communicated around the world (in multiple languages), then this position is for you!

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) seeks a Web Designer with experience building web sites that can be viewed in multiple languages. Experience working with web content management systems, translation memories, image manipulation, and other tools of the trade is required - your expertise with translation processes and procedures will help SEL grow.

* Coordinate content updates for foreign language-based websites.
* Optimize photos, graphics, and other resources; work closely with web developers to develop and improve web content management processes related to functions used in website localization, including translations, XLIFF file management, translation memory, and project management.
* Support website systems and end-user interfaces (portals, intranets, extranets, etc.)
* Become proficient using SEL's implementation of the Ektron web content management system.
* Maintain a consistent look and feel throughout all web sites.
* Research and gather content in support of new and revised web pages; work closely with website contributors to ensure that content meets objectives.
* Identify, measure, and improve area lifications:
* A.S. or B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience
* Experience coordinating web content in multiple languages
* Experience using Adobe CS4 and Microsoft Office Applications
* Knowledge of web development industry best practices for managing content in multiple languages
* Understanding of SEO techniques and strategies applied to non-English web content
* Demonstrated experience working with public websites in more than one language
* Knowledge of web-based technologies, including content management systems, CSS layout, HTML code, and graphic format optimization
* Ability to understand and translate business needs into website capability
* Excellent proofreading, writing, grammar, and communications skills
* Outstanding attention to details
* Ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific information
* Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
* Background check results satisfactory to SEL
* Negative drug test result(s)Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience using Ektron , Sharepoint, or similar content management tools
* Experience using translation memory tools such as SDL Trados Studio or MemoQ
