Job Title:Web Developer Location:Iraq Clearance:Secret POSITION SUMMARY: You will be joining a small (six-person) development team split between Iraq and the United States, with three developers in each group. Our team is primarily focused on the development and support of a custom Flex/ColdFusion web application developed for our customer. This application supports the customers management of 7,000+ linguists and staff who work for the U.S. military, and has nearly 300 active users.
You will be working with the rest of the team on all stages of the software development process, from requirements gathering to testing and deployment. You may also be responsible for architectural decisions, mentoring junior developers and performing code reviews, and providing user support and training. We currently follow a lightweight and somewhat loose development process, but are open to change in this and other areas.
Our current development platform/environment is ColdFusion 8, Flex SDK 3.5, SQL Server 2005, and IIS 6. Our primary tools include Flex Builder 3 (with CFEclipse and Subclipse), Subversion, SQL Server Management Studio, and Project Tracker. We are expecting to upgrade to ColdFusion 9, SQL Server 2008 R2, IIS 7.5, Flash Builder 4, and ColdFusion Builder in the near future. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: This position typically requires four or more years of related experience in data-driven web application development. This should include at least one year of Flex and ActionScript 3 experience, two years with ColdFusion MX or later, and two years with SQL / database development (one year with SQL Server 2000 or later).
A bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is preferred, but we are happy to consider developers with an equivalent combination of education, ColdFusion or Flex certification (or other technical training), and work experience.
Experience with Subversion and Flex/Flash Builder or Eclipse is required, as are excellent debugging principles and a strong foundation in object oriented programming, web security, usability, system architecture, and basic web standards including XHTML and CSS. Some team leadership experience is a plus. Web design and website/database performance tuning experience are also great plusses WORK REQUIREMENTS/ CONDITIONS: The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of materials, boxes or equipment.
