Woven Fabric Specialist, Outerwear & Bottoms
-Apply technical textile manufacturing knowledge to initiate innovative fabric development and create unique product based on fiber and yarn type, construction, and finishing & print techniques -Research, identify, and contact potential new suppliers for woven fabrics in order to develop iconic and innovative fabric based on the needs of the business -Communicate extensively with mill base to educate suppliers on the aesthetic as well as costing requirements -Guide mills on technical execution of trials & developments -Develop and maintain mill relationships to ensure key partnerships for future growth -Attend fabric trade shows to meet with existing suppliers and grow mill base -Attend season kick-offs; follow up with targeted fabric presentations/collections -Interact with merchant, design, technical design, QA & sourcing teams in an advisory role for all technical fabric issues from product development through production -Manage the fabric approval process from conception to final approval to ensure quality fabrics pass testing requirements -Track all developments; attend weekly fabric meetings with merchant, design, technical design, QA & sourcing in order to review development, timing, and costing, new trends -Work closely with the sourcing team to align mill base with sourcing strategy and costing
