  • We're seeking an Accounting Manager to work for a premier manufacturer in Downers Grove, IL. With us, it's all about finding the job that's just right.

    • Accounting and Office Manager

    • Salary: $60,000 - 75,000 based on experience

    • Location: Downers Grove - on site (Fridays are work from home)

    • Direct hire

    • Hours: semi-flexible (8-5 M-F standard)

    What's a typical day as an Accounting and Office Manager

    • Maintain all aspects of daily accounting for the company utilizing QuickBooks

    • Oversee two direct reports including a Sr. Buyer and Shipping and Inventory Supervisor

    • Managing all office and accounting operations including Billing, deposits, A/R, A/P, GL, journal entries, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition

    • Handling the budget and financial forecasts and report variances

    • Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements

    • Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting

    • Researching technical accounting issues for compliance

    • Responsible for the month-end and year-end close process

    • Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

    • Make recommendations on process improvements

    • Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

    • Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

    • Conducting analysis and working with the executive team to make future forecasts and report for board members and the ESOP team

    • Managing and coordinating payroll requirements with 3rd party payroll company.

    • Performing additional office duties as necessary

    This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

    • Are proficient in the use of MS Office and have a high level of knowledge in QuickBooks financial management software

    • Have 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience

    • Experience working with a small company (5-10MM revenue preferably)

    • Experience working with a manufacturer

    • Have experience as an Accounting Manager, or similar relevant experience

    • Have a BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field or equivalent education and experience

    • Have expertise in the daily transactional accounting duties such as accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, month end, journal entries etc as well as financial reporting

    • Have thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

    • Have experience with creating financial statements

    • Have experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

    • Have excellent accounting software user and administration skills
