    Accounting Manager - SSC (Hybrid)

    Heidelberg Materials is seeking a qualified Accounting Manager to join our team in Irving, Texas.

    What you'll get to do

    • Manage two staff accountants for payroll and corporate support.

    • Oversee the financial and operational transaction processing in General Ledgers for business line operations.

    • Responsible for the accurate and timely closing of General ledgers monthly.

    • Review balance sheet reconciliations monthly; Primary focus is on bank accounts and payroll liabilities.

    • Review reports and provide analysis/support as needed monthly.

    • Oversee the escheatment process; work with AP and accountants in collecting list for submission to various states.

    • Encourage and identify process improvement opportunities for the Shared Service organization as it relates to the individual's area of responsibility.

    • Manage complex projects for business integration, technical accounting changes, and continuous improvement projects.

    • Complete ad hoc projects.

    • Respond to questions and issues and communicate responses to operations and other functional areas.

    • Work closely with other functions within the SSC groups, Payroll, Corporate, the Regions and local operations in clearing outstanding reconciliation items.

    • Administer standard business processes and participate in implementing a shared services center environment in North America

    Essential Experience and Skills

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting

    • At least 4 years of experience

    • Solid understanding of GAAP and IFRS

    • Thorough understanding of large company ERP environments like SAP, JDE, Oracle

    • Experience with reporting systems like Essbase, BO and BW HANA

    • Proficiency with core MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    • Strong supervisory and interpersonal skills

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills

    • Solid project management and administrative skills

    • Proven track record in meeting deadlines and working collaboratively as part of a team are essential.

    Preferred Experience and Skills

    • Proven experience collaborating with and building the capability of less experienced colleagues.

    • Preferred experience with SAP ECC, JDE, Essbase, and Blackline

    • Advanced skills for financial analysis / modeling in Microsoft Excel

    • Experience with Lean / Six Sigma methods

    • CPA or CMA certification

    • Demonstrated openness to change, flexibility, and adaptability.

    • Strong tactical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

    • Organizational influence with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
