    The Accounting Manager, who will be reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance/Controller, will be tasked with managing the company's day-to-day financial operations. This individual will ensure all transactions are accurately documented, internal controls and processes are in place and optimized, and accounts are reconciled in a timely manner.

    Principal Duties

    As an Accounting Manager, your key duties will include the daily management of all accounting operations such as accounts receivable and payable, expense regulation, managing vendors, and treasury management. The role also includes support in all monthly, quarterly, and annual account closings, which includes account consolidation, accrual schedules, and journal entries.

    • The timely completion of the monthly close and the accurate and punctual reconciliation processes. Compliance with GAAP in the recording of all relevant financial transactions.

    • Review and update journal entry transactions.

    • Probe, advise, and bring to attention significant shifts in financial performance that warrant managerial intervention.

    • Propose and execute improvements in processes and systems to encourage efficiency, implement best practices, and accommodate the company and department's growth.

    • Manage relevant general ledger accounts and assist in the formation of financial statements.

    • Direct and develop the accounting team, properly dividing tasks and providing constructive feedback.

    • Authenticate the completion of balance sheet account reconciliations to keep the integrity of the financial statements intact.

    • Assure enhanced internal controls and processes that help mitigate risks are in place.

    • Supervise collection efforts, payable processing, and general accounting obligations for the company.

    • Collaborate with senior management to support corporate programs and endeavors by providing precise financial data.

    • Work with an external CPA firm in order to supply data for quarterly and annual audits.

    • Fulfill other job-related duties and assignments as needed.

    Requirements

    Educational Background & Past Experience:

    • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods industry.

    • Experience and proficiency with ERP systems

    • Prior experience in leading high-performing teams is advantageous.
