Area Engineering Manager

Job Description

An employer is seeking an Area Engineering Manager to sit in Douglasville, GA. This person responsibilities include owning the overall operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment for all data center(s) within a market, leading to mission-critical uptime of 99.999% or higher. This position will also serve as a technical resource for the Critical Infrastructure, Design and Construction teams. Identify strategic business opportunities and threats, develop and implement plans and processes to achieve long term business objectives. This person will support the Operations Group with both technical and administrative tasks related to the overall proper operation, maintenance, and training of the facilities nationwide. They will directly supervise and critique work performance by subcontractors to ensure adherence to standards, schedules and specifications. Lastly, they will find and correct maintenance discrepancies and work with Operations management to resolve site issues based on agreed upon priorities including management support of vendors and sub-contractors.

Skills and Requirements

-Must have 6+ years of direct, relevant technical experience with Data Center MEP equipment operation, construction and maintenance

-3+ years of experience in a management position with 1 or more direct reports

-Experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting/problem solving

-Extensive experience within a critical infrastructure environment.

-Background trade or military experience -Advanced electrical or mechanical certifications (Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline)

-8+ years of experience working in data centers with an emphasis on building and equipment operation

-8+ years of experience in a management position with 5 or more direct reports null
