    The role you'll contribute:

    The Assistant Dean - ASN has the responsibility for the overall coordination of the ASN program including the education and supervision of students in the online and campus-based classroom and clinical practice settings. Responsibilities will also include design, coordination and evaluation of curriculum,. Under the direction of the Dean, the Assistant Dean will actively participate in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Manages the assigned associate degree program including the selection process for students, faculty and adjuncts, overseeing accreditation and other quality review activities. Representation of the programs at the departmental and institutional level, providing mentorship and leadership to students and faculty. Develops, designs, and delivers instruction in courses, participates in student advising and mentoring, and engages in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship, and research. Reviews and assists with revisions for program policies and procedures. Identifies and recommends appropriate community agency learning sites for clinical learning experiences.

    • Represent the associate degree program to the Department of Nursing Administration and assists the Dean in representation to Senior University Administration

    • Able to assume role for department leadership in Dean's absence

    • Identifies appropriate community agency linkages for student learning experiences

    • Participates in student scholarly activities as indicated

    • Designs, coordinates, evaluates and implements program curriculum

    • Engages in program planning and assessment at the department and institutional level

    • Assists the Dean with the strategic plan, updating the goals, objectives and assessment

    • Engages in fiscal management and allocation of resources, including long-term planning

    • Completes faculty evaluations and communicates results to support ongoing faculty professional development

    • Assumes responsibility for program accreditation and annual reports to Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)

    • Develops, designs, and delivers instruction in courses

    • Participates in student advising and mentorship

    • Actively engages in the department committees and institution as assigned by the Dean of Nursing

    • Engages in the academic roles of teaching, service, scholarship, and research

    • Maintains a strong presence in professional organizations at the state and national level, representing the faculty, program, and institution

    • Functions as a liaison and program representative when interacting with the Advisory Board and other community stakeholders

    • Responsible for online and campus-based teaching of nursing students along with the supervision of students at clinical training facilities, imparting cognitive, affective and psychomotor skills appropriate for the practice of professional nursing.

    Qualifications

    The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Academic doctoral degree (DNP or PhD) from a regionally accredited university

    • Actively participating as as an educator in an academic, clinic, or hospital setting

    • Two years of experience in teaching in nursing associate, undergraduate and/or graduate programs

    • Two years Instructional design experience

    • Two years' experience in developing nursing associate, undergraduate and/or graduate programs

    • Two years Online education or instructional technology experience

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

    • Previous academic administrative experience in associate, undergraduate and/or graduate level programming

    LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

    • Active unencumbered RN, Multi-State Compact, Nursing State license

    • Active membership in state and national professional associations
