    Job Summary

    The Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs Administration reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs and is a member of the executive leadership team. The Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs Administration will be responsible for ensuring organizational effectiveness through management of the following areas: Marketing and Communications, Assessment, Research and Planning, Budgets, Planning and Financial Analysis, Commencement, The Shorthorn (student publications/media) and Student Affairs Operations. This role will provide guidance and support for departments in the areas of planning, budgeting, technology, and marketing.

    Coordinate special projects assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Dotted line supervision to the Director of Budgets, Planning and Analysis and a Data Analyst.

    • Manage the business processes and fiscal operations for the Division of Student Affairs with an operating budget of approximately $26 million annually including planning, preparing, and presenting and approving budgets.

    • Supervise the Director of The Shorthorn, staff, operations, budget, and advertising.

    • Supervise the Associate Director for Marketing & Communications.

    • Strengthen and manage all aspects of internal and external divisional communications. Generate and publish annual reports, presentations, and other external communications such as social media and web presence. Manage division organizational key performance indicator compilations.

    • Oversee divisional committee assignments and supervise professional development committee including divisional retreats, awards luncheon Student Affairs Leadership team meeting, Executive Leadership team meetings and annual director training and retreat.

    • Manage central office operations, including reception area.

    • Oversee the allocation of Student Service Fees which generates more than 7 million annually.

    • Align budgets with strategic divisional initiatives.

    • Provide leadership in the areas of planning, human resources, policy development, operational, facility, and budgetary aspects for all departments.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a related area and five (5) years of professional communications, planning, operational and supervisory experience.

    • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.

    • Attention to detail essential as well as the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize work.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's Degree in business administration, communications or higher education preferred.
