    Position Summary

    The Associate Director of Research Compliance ("AD") reports to the Vice President of Research Compliance, Training and Policy, with dotted line reporting to the Directors of Research Compliance and Export Controls. The AD is responsible for helping ensure compliance with a variety of regulatory requirements across several areas.

    The AD will:

    • Draft reports, guidance, and website text in a variety of regulatory areas

    • Participate in investigations of various kinds, by fact-gathering, analysis and reporting

    • Conduct and document regulatory analysis

    Provide other support as needed.

    Responsibilities

    The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Director include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Support research misconduct investigations, including, e.g.,

    • collection of relevant evidence in research misconduct cases, including electronic and scientific records

    • draft outlines, reports, and other written materials

    • Support other research compliance reviews or investigations, including fact gathering, regulatory analysis, and drafting necessary documentation and communications

    • Develop/enhance web content in a variety of areas

    • Support the University's export control compliance program and the Director of Export Controls

    • Support the University's conflict of interest in research compliance program and the Director of Research Compliance

    Other projects as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree and at least 5-7 years of relevant work experience required.

    • The AD must have a strong background in regulatory and legal analysis. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • JD preferred.

    • Background in higher education issues and experience with a scientific or academic environment is desirable but not required.
