  • Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    Serving as a member of the University Registrar's office, the Associate Registrar for Compliance and Reporting provides oversight and guidance for federal enrollment reporting for the University of Rochester. The Associate Registrar for Compliance and Reporting works closely with the Senior Associate University Registrar and the Technology and Data Management Assistant Director to ensure correct, accurate and timely reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse and the Veteran's Administration. This position conducts continuous assessments of policies and procedures as they relate to compliance and reporting and recommend enhancements to ensure that the University is operating with the least amount of risk exposure possible. The Associate Registrar will be expected to exercise sound judgment, think critically, and work collaboratively with faculty, staff and internal partner offices including but not limited to the Office of the Bursar and the Office of Financial Aid. This position provides direct support and management for our Veterans community and meeting federal reporting requirements as set forth.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Executes enrollment reporting and compliance initiatives set forth by the University and federal requirements. Ensures data integrity and timely reporting by creating and implementing checks and balances. (20%)

    • Provides training, support and serves as a liaison to internal and external constituents as it relates to change of status processing, veteran affairs processing and federal enrollment reporting questions/concerns. (15%)

    • Works closely with the Senior Associate University Registrar and Technology and Data Management Assistant Director to manage and track all University enrollment and degree data submissions to the National Student Clearinghouse. Ensures compliance with published submission requirements and verification processes for third parties.

    • Serves as the primary school certificating officer for veteran's and ROTC benefits for student veterans, dependents, spouses and active-duty military personnel. Oversees the creation and management of VA benefit eligible student records in compliance with University and VA regulations and guidelines. Serves as the liaison to other partner offices for VA certification process and procedures.

    • Acts on behalf of the Office of the University Registrar to serve as the University liaison to communicate, educate and partner with all school Registrars and create and maintain partnerships with other offices as it relates to change of status, federal enrollment reporting and Veteran's affairs.

    • Partners with the Change of Status coordinator about the enrollment reporting documentation and system processing with an eye and focus on process improvement ensuring we are meeting federal requirements and preparation for audit reviews.

    Requirements:

    • Master's Degree required.

    • 3 years of relevant experience required.

    • 5 years of relevant experience preferred.

    • or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

    • Training in higher education software and federal compliance preferred.

    • Familiarity with Veteran's Affairs requirements and reporting preferred.

    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret information from a variety of policy and procedure manuals required.

    • Ability to solve practical problems, adapt or modify existing systems or procedures to accommodate new situations required.

    • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team required.

    • Experience or exposure to Workday Student

    • MS Office Suite and statistical applications (such as SPSS or SAS) required.

    • Experience with project management and business process reengineering required.

    • Strong project management skills required.

    • Experience participating in mid to large-scale application development initiatives required.

    • Ability to gather and analyze data and prepare reports required.

    • Experience using analytical and decision support tools required.

    • Ability to maintain knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise required.

    • Excellent organizational and management skills required.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and protected data required.

    • Ability to establish priorities required.

    • Ability to assess the impact of changes across the institute and react accordingly required.

    • Experience training multiple constituencies required.

    • Ability to work effectively with faculty and staff including leading group sessions and/or giving presentations.

    Pay Range

    Pay Range: $62,525 - $93,766 Annually

    The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
