    Responsibilities

    The Assistant Vice President of Technology, Head of Enterprise Architecture Planning is a role will be a dynamic and experienced leader that will partner with various Ascension business heads, clinical and operational strategic leaders to accelerate Ascension strategies, transforming consumer, clinician and associate experience, driving operational efficiency, quality and service delivery maximizing the value from technology.

    The successful candidate will exhibit a broad range of skills and knowledge as it relates to the business of healthcare, healthcare operations and core business functions as well as knowledge of technologies from business capabilities, applications, solutions and technology capability perspectives. The ability to assess and understand healthcare market trends, disruptors and technology innovators is a vital component.

    The successful candidate should have experience and knowledge with the core business and clinical domains of a large healthcare integrated delivery network. This includes knowledge of provider organizations: acute hospital systems, ambulatory and specialty practices and health plan and provider network management. Other domains of knowledge expected are medical devices and electronic health record capabilities, government rules and regulations as it relates to all things healthcare and the experience components for consumers, patients, clinicians and our healthcare associates. The ability to understand and successfully navigate within a diverse technology ecosystem is essential.

The successful candidate will lead a team of senior enterprise architects in defining and implementing architecture strategies that support the organization's mission and vision.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the enterprise architecture and planning team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

    • Collaborate with business and clinical leaders in strategic planning efforts to understand organizational goals and objectives, identifying and aligning enterprise architecture strategies aligning with business goals and supporting long-term growth and sustainability.

    • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior technology leadership, providing insights and recommendations on technology strategy, investments, and innovation opportunities.

    • Drive innovation, advise in the evaluation and selection of strategic technology platforms, vendors and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and drive business value.

    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of enterprise-level architecture and technology roadmaps across multiple domains, including business, infrastructure, data, security, and applications.

    • Establish and enforce governance processes and standards to ensure consistency, compliance and security across all strategic initiatives and architecture disciplines

    • Conduct periodic analysis of the existing technology landscape, identifying areas for improvement, optimization, and innovation.

    • Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies to address potential technology risks.

    • Attract, retain and develop top talent within the enterprise architecture team, providing mentorship, coaching and opportunities for professional growth across architecture disciplines.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

    • 10+ years of proven experience as an Enterprise Architect, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, associated with strategy and planning in a large-scale organization, preferably within the healthcare industry.

    • Well versed in healthcare IT systems, including electronic health records, healthcare data standards, interoperability, and regulatory requirements

    • Strong strategic thinking, relationship building, analytical abilities and financial acumen. Able to navigate and assess complex problems and recommend solutions.

    • Ability to work successfully in ambiguous scenarios or situations. Ability to work in a highly complex and diverse IT and business environment.

    • Strong leadership and collaboration abilities, with the capability to influence and guide stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
