    About the Role

    The Benefits team is looking for a Benefits Analyst to provide analytical and administrative support for NDI's employee benefits programs, acting as a resource for staff and supporting the execution of related human resources benefits initiatives, projects, policies, and programs.

    Your Purpose and Impact:

    • Supports the delivery and administration of NDI benefits programs by updating enrollment/participation information and records promptly and accurately.

    • Serves as a resource and conduit for providing accurate and timely responses to employees related to benefits questions and needs, including those related to obtaining clarification about plan provisions, enrollment, eligibility, and assistance with carriers.

    • Conducts benefits orientation periodically.

    • Supports the processing and administration of all leave requests, including FMLA, paid family leave, etc. Ensures that relevant forms, information, and supporting documentation are provided to and collected from employees to ensure timely and accurate approval and tracking/documentation processes.

    • Works with the Benefits Manager to ensure accurate and timely processing and monthly reconciliation of carriers' invoices and submission of payment requests.

    • Utilizes the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to generate required routine reports and perform general analysis related to benefits.

    • Understands how the HRIS system works to maximize accurate processing and reporting use.

    • Assists with executing various employee benefits processes/projects including Open Enrollment (OE) from start to finish.

    • Contributes to the development of policies and procedures related to benefits programs and processes.

    • Assists or leads the development of related communications and training for employees to ensure understanding, completion, submission and compliance of all processes and procedures as well as completion of required forms.

    • Participates as a Human Resources team member, attending staff meetings, and supporting the implementation and administration of various department initiatives, managing, performing, or assisting with various projects, processes, and programs.

    • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and maintains the confidentiality of all Human Resources-related information and other confidential matters related to NDI operations.

    • Recommends improvements and enhancements to Human Resources processes and procedures.

    • Maintains a focus on professional development and keeps abreast of Human Resources trends and issues, particularly those related to developments in employee benefits.

    • Perform other duties as required.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a similar field, or equivalent experience.

    • Five years of relevant work experience, with progressive experience in administering employee benefits programs and processes. Previous experience with a human resources information system, preferably UltiPro/UKG.

    • Knowledge and proficiency in the use of and capabilities of an HRIS and the requirements associated with data entry, data management, and report generation/analysis.

    • General knowledge of human resources policies and procedures, particularly related to benefits administration.

    • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, particularly those related to benefits and the ability to apply that knowledge effectively to ensure compliance.

    • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively at all levels across all levels of the organization, demonstrating diplomacy, tact, responsiveness, and professionalism.

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, a high attention to detail, the ability to and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Self-initiative and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

    • Ability to read, comprehend, interpret, and compare information/data and demonstrate math skills to ensure accurate calculation and numbers can be reconciled.

    • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality and ensure such information is secured and maintained in an appropriate manner.

    • Proactive with the ability to work independently and as a team member.

    • Technical skills using WORD, PowerPoint, and other related office software, and an advanced level of proficiency in Excel. Familiarity or experience with Google Suite is a plus.

    This position offers an anticipated salary range of approximately $62,800-$78,500.

    Additional Information:

    While there may be flexibility for remote/hybrid work environment and to comply with tax and legal obligations, successful candidates must be residents of MD, DC, or VA, or relocate prior to the start of employment at NDI.
