    The Business Unit Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a designated customer focused team to ensure that goals and objectives of the team are accomplished within prescribed time frames and budget. The Business Unit Manager will select, supervise, empower, coach, develop and retain all members of their team while partnering with Operations and Quality to ensure that we deliver a quality product on time. The successful Business Unit Manager will drive project success through active leadership to provide PCI a competitive advantage in long-term customer management while providing an excellent customer experience.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

    1. Oversee all business unit (BU) activities to deliver industry leading customer experience.

    2. Select, supervise, empower, coach, develop and retain a team of qualified individuals through effective employee development, performance management, succession planning, and recognition.

    3. Ensure the appropriate team structure is in place by performing workload analysis to manage headcount and to ensure we deliver on customer and business commitments.

    4. Establish business unit and individual goals and objectives in alignment with department and site goals and customer requirements.

    5. Ensure monthly business unit financial performance goals are met. Manage expenses to meet approved budget while achieving departmental commitments and project objectives. Provide recommendations for capital expenditures and budget spending when appropriate.

    6. Ensure strong alignment and coordination with other business units and functional groups. Collaborate on best practices with other Business Unit Managers and leadership.

    7. Facilitate daily team performance meeting to ensure goals and objectives are met and to build a culture of safety, quality, performance, customer service, and continuous improvement (CI).

    8. Manage the training and development of the team including cross training initiatives and on-boarding of new employees to the team.

    9. Embrace a CI mindset and drive BU improvements to reduce and simplify efforts.

    10. Utilize metrics to drive improvements & regularly report on progress to the Site Leadership Team (SLT).

    11. Coordinate and facilitate customer Quarterly Business Reviews.

    12. Collaborate with appropriate Account Executives to ensure seamless communication with customers, including working with him/her on future and existing business quotations.

    13. Address customer escalations appropriately, striving for resolution without further escalation.

    14. Ensure customer forecasts are up to date and that department financial budgets are aligned with forecasts.

    15. May include travel to meet with customers on projects and attend business reviews.

    16. This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.

    17. Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.

    18. Attendance on site is an essential function of this position.

    19. Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

    Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the stated position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Required:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a pertinent field of study.

    • 7-10 years related experience and/or training within the pharmaceutical and/or packaging industry or related field, with a history of project and operational accomplishment and leadership excellence in the project management arena.

    • Strong leadership capability required.

    • College Level Mathematical Skills

    • Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.

    • Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.

    • High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms.

    • High Standard of Report Writing

    Preferred:

    • Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires.

    • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

    • Ability to display a willingness to make decisions.

    • Experience in the growth and professional development of people.

    • Ability to set and achieve challenging goals.
