    Job Summary and Qualifications

    GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Leader in Technology, Product Development and Support Services across PPMSI that includes the development and delivery of strategic solutions that improve the daily efforts of our customers and staff. Requires clear and effective coordination and communication of key priorities as defined by PPMSI Leadership and other entities across HCA. Directs the efforts of the PPMSI IT&S teams to deliver effective technology and service in a meaningful and directed way. The PPMSI CIO will have joint IT&S Leadership role with PSG IT&S and other IT&S Divisions across the organization to bring about comprehensive HCA proven solutions. The CIO of PPMSI will be an integral link between enterprise HCA IT&S and the Physician Services Group to enhance the use and effectiveness of products and services (understanding existing solutions and services and how they might assist PPMSI). Primary duties include developing and deploying effective technology solutions that have been proven effective across PPMSI as well investigating the opportunity to look beyond known options. The CIO of PPMSI will direct staff on a daily basis to monitor system and service performance and actively encourage an engaged effort. Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to interface directly with the PPMSI Executive Leadership, IT&S leadership and the PSG IT&S Teams. The leader of this team is an active participant in the development of the strategic roadmap for all required Solutions.

    What you will do:

    • Integral part of the leadership team providing Strategic IT Direction and Execution on key organizational objectives

    • Collaborates with PPMSI, PSG and IT&S Teams to leverage best practices for IT&S Support and Service Understands California Regulatory Standards and delivers systems that meet those requirements in a timely manner

    • Executive Presentation of Projects and Status to Customers and Leadership

    • Develops the overall product and technology roadmap to meet or exceed PPMSI Leadership expectations

    • Overall Resource Management (resource planning and time tracking)

    • Overall Portfolio Management and status updating on product, technology and services projects

    • Ensures proactive Project Management by forecasting upcoming issues, constraints, etc.

    • Manages Resource and Staff Sourcing from IT&S and other external vendors

    • Leads Contract Negotiations for all IT&S vendors with guidance from PPMSI Leadership May-20

    • Leads Issue resolution activities as well as overall communication with parts of the organization as to the action items being addressed

    • Identifies HCA Standards that will assist in a more stable organization

    • Able to advise leadership clearly on issues relevant to overall strategy and potential Risks

    • Active leader in the Change Management process

    • Ensures Project Tools and Template Standardization across all PSG IT&S projects

    • Responsible for guiding the budgeting process and effectively managing the budget throughout the year for technology services (Including the EHR Deployment Hi-Tech Budget)

    • Responsible for the definition and development of product, technology and related services for PPMSI

    • Responsible for setting direction of the design of solutions that works in conjunction with PPMSI chosen applications

    • Responsible for all technology areas related to the development of the PPMSI Line of Business and working across organizational boundaries.

    • Responsible for overall technology Vendor Management.

    • Responsible for the interim support and service on systems being replaced

    • Responsible for the development and utilization of metrics to measure productivity and effective operational processes.

    • Responsible for building effective teams by hiring individuals that possess the necessary skills and represent the company's values.

    • As a member of the IT&S Service Line Leadership team, responsible for participating in the discussion and decisions that affect the entire IT&S Service Line organization.

    • Leads research in new technologies that eventually help us decide on best options to bring forward

    What you will need:

    • Solid working knowledge of Provider/Physician Practices and Managed Care based in California

    • Solid working knowledge of managing highly technical issues and teams

    • Solid knowledge and experience of setting and delivering on Support SLAs

    • Solid working knowledge of an enterprise technology where there are numerous Divisions across the US with select data centers strategically positions to serve each user

    • Strong leadership skills with excellent communication and inter-personal skills with Senior Leadership

    • Proven leadership ability with strong development processes and practices experience background.

    • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.

    • Bachelor's Degree required

    • Certification/Licensure: HIMSS/CHIME Member desired

    • 8+ years of experience leading large, full life-cycle technology solutions as a Director of IT or CIO

    • 10+ years of proven and comprehensive technology experience

    • Experience working in a National Company with multiple Regional Divisions

    • Has been the IT Leader in an organization with the daily operational accountability for Healthcare Systems (eCW, Epic, NextGen, Meditech or AllScripts preferred).

    • Experience preferred with Claims Management/Adjudication and Healthcare Exchange Solutions desired

    • Experience executing corporate level priorities with associated budgets and deadlines

    • Experience Leading a progressive team that expects exceptional service delivery Direct experience in technology services using many of the following technologies, concepts and processes (but not limited to):

    • Development standards & methodologies

    • Integration Technologies including BizTalk and/or Cloverleaf

    • Cloud Concepts and Management

    • Healthcare IT Systems and Solutions

    • Reporting technologies including Microstrategy, SSRS, Business Objects

    • Some travel required but generally less than 25%.
