The Bernhard TME ("TME") Commissioning Agent leads a commissioning team in order to confirm that building systems are designed, installed, and operate to meet the Owner's operational needs and the Engineer's design intent. The Commissioning Agent will travel as needed depending on project demands, typically averaging 25% to 50% of the time. Commissioning Agent will frequently interact with owner, owner's representatives, contractors, engineers, and architects to fulfill the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
Essential Functions of the Commissioning Agent
Develops owner's project requirements.
Reviews basis of design.
Performs peer/design review.
Writes commissioning specifications and plan.
Generates pre-functional checklists.
Performs pre-functional tests.
Generates functional checklists.
Performs functional tests.
Observes equipment startup and prepares reports.
Performs project site observations and creates issues log.
Writes final commissioning report.
Schedules and coordinates commissioning activities with multiple parties
Reviews O&M manual documentation.
Provides owner training.
Supervises the work of Commissioning Technicians I, II, and III.
Manages multiple commissioning projects.
Upholds BTME's owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of commissioning or related experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, automatic temperature control systems, and/or testing, adjusting, and balancing including.
Experience with building construction or construction related degree such as construction management. Commissioning Certification Preferred; (e.g. NEBB, ACG, BCxA, ASHRAE, etc.)
Registered Engineering Intern (EI) or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
