Job Summary:
Construction Field Engineers help plan, direct, and execute work for all engineering disciplines in the field to support construction projects. As required, they interface and coordinate activities with home office engineering, field construction supervision, and field subcontractors. Additionally, they may support Field Procurement, Quality Control, and Cost and Scheduling. They will also be tasked with the use of civil survey equipment including total station, GPS, and underground utility location devices. Additionally, employees are required to have knowledge of construction processes along with a specific certified field engineering discipline. Employees are required to take direction and collaborate with the Site Manager, Site Superintendent, and Project Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate internally with other execution disciplines and external suppliers both within Company prescribed policies/procedure and/or direction from the Site Manager or Project Engineer
Observes and ensures construction practices as required for compliance of construction operations/execution with federal, state, and local codes, industry standards, company procedures, and contractual requirements
Gather approved required documents and information to support the successful completion of relevant construction activities/requirements.
Study and understand the project specifications, procedures, and relevant portions of the Contract
Responsible for adhering to and promoting safe work practices
Attend construction project meetings as required to participate and understand execution responsibilities.
Achieve successful completion of assigned work responsibilities on time, within budget, schedules, and contract requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
All Construction Field Engineer employees share common technical competencies acquired both within formal accredited educational programs and actual work experience in which they must demonstrate proficiency. These competencies are listed below:
Degree in construction management, or similar accredited educational program preferred
Ability to pass Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check
Ability to work a Monday-Thursday 4-10 work schedule
40 Hour HAZWOPER Training Certificate preferred
30 Hour OSHA Training preferred
Ability to pass company Pre Employment Physical and Drug and Alcohol Screening
Technical proficiency in the following subjects:
Microsoft Office application suite
Collaboration resources (i.e. SharePoint)
Records management software
Basic knowledge in surveying (GPS and Total Station)
Working expertise in the following disciplines:
Industry design and engineering standards
Industry safety requirements
Construction process
Project team roles and responsibilities
Inter-disciplinary scopes, roles, and responsibilities
Construction procedures including subcontracting practices
Familiarity with environmental remediation
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to coordinate operations with construction team
Ability to resolve problems with assistance from others
Ability to take direction from project and departmental leadership
