Controller

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Hybrid Controller role in Hutto, Texas. The successful candidate will be involved in planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting functions, managing financial data, and coordinating with external auditors. The role also includes providing vital information for decision-making processes, managing budget processes, and establishing, monitoring, and enforcing accounting policies and internal control systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions

• Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate accounting of consolidated business results

• Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements

• Coordinate activities of external auditors

• Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process

• Manage the budget process

• Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes

• Establish, monitor, and enforce accounting policies and internal control systems

• Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database

• Develop and monitor business performance metrics

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal financial, payroll and tax requirements

• Experience with lender covenant requirements & reporting

• Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff

• Maintain departmental work quality by planning, monitoring and appraising job results

• Protect the company by keeping financial information and plans confidential

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Controller or similar role

• Strong understanding of Annual Financial Reporting is required

• Proficiency in generating and analyzing Income Statements is necessary

• Experience with visualization tools is essential

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• CPA or CMA certification is desirable

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices

• Ability to strategize and solve problems promptly

• Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software

• An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
