  • Description

    A large manufacturing company is seeking a cost accounting manager to join their team. Responsibilities include:

    • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.

    • Analyze manufacturing costs and variances, providing insights to improve cost efficiency and profitability.

    • Oversee inventory valuation, including standard costing, inventory reserves, and inventory reconciliation.

    • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for manufacturing operations, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

    • Implement and maintain internal controls related to cost accounting to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

    • Prepare and present financial reports, including cost analysis, to senior management.

    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce costs.

    • Manage and mentor a team of cost accountants, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.

    • Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed.

    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cost accounting and manufacturing processes

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    • 3+ years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.

    • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.

    • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

    • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a team.

    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.

    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
