  • Applied Materials' APG (factory solution software group) seeks to hire aTechnology Leader. This person will be required to manage and carry out the Smart Manufacturing vision and direction for Applied's software automation group. This person will lead the direction of the Industry 4.0 technology buildout and align with marketing and engineering teams. The technology leader will gather, coordinate, research opportunities internally & externally and map market requirements to the technology team. A successful candidate will have experience coordinating the standards and direction between multiple teams. He will leverage the technology management / product management / solution management leadership to document MRS, common standards and BKMs. A successful candidate will have experience in, and be required, to create customer facing technical materials. To create and communicate a consistent vision across multiple technical disciplines that will solve high value problems of our customers. This role will be part of the APG organization.A successful candidate's characteristics will include: innovator, highly motivated self-starter, experience working in teams, ability to juggle priorities, experience presenting their work to executive management, and a critical thinker with a desire to enable the org to succeed.Strong background in technologyExperience in Industry 4.0Experience in evaluating and decide between different solutions/technologiesProven track record bringing products and solutions to marketWorking experience of Cloud technology and associated applicationsUnderstanding of AI/ML applications10+ years of experience with the skills called out aboveBachelors Degree (minimum)Understanding of the principles and challenges in manufacturing and an understanding of a CIM (computer integrated manufacturing) components in different markets like Semi, Pharma and Chemicals.Understand the trends in technology and digital transformationExperience making tough strategic tradeoff decisionsAbility and experience creating customer facing messagingStrong communication skillsAbility to balance and shift prioritiesAble to work in cross-functional teamsEngineering management experience with system engineering and new technology teamsInternational and domestic travel requiredPosition requires understanding of Applied Materials global Standards of Business Conduct and compliance with these standards at all times.
