    The opportunity

    The Demand Planning Sr. Manager is responsible for demand planning over a North America business segment that has numerous customers, mills, and/or converting sites. Responsible for interacting with director level and above frequently to make strategic and tactical decisions for assigned business area. Demand forecasts are a direct input into finical budgeting/planning and operational supply planning. An expert in analytics, relationship building, and collaborating. Experienced manager that is responsible for leading a small team of individual contributors. Must have a pulse of the business inside WestRock and understand external factors impacting demand. Responsible for planning 2-24-month horizon.

    How you will impact WestRock

    • Develop and align monthly demand for the 2 - 24-month horizon with assigned area of responsibility within the WestRock Consumer Packaging, Corrugated Packaging, and Global Paper commercial teams

    • Facilitate a quarterly process with commercial teams to provide forecasts beyond 24 months (3-5 years) as input into the Long-Term Capacity Planning and Network Design processes.

    • Work with commercial teams to ensure a quality SKU level forecast at right level of granularity to maximize efficiency; implement forecasting methodologies which leverage customer and product growth and segmentation strategies. Able to formulate, execute, and communicate the forecasting approach.

    • Owns the relationship management between Demand Planning and cross-functional teams (Commercial Sales, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, etc.). Aligns demand plans with business leadership through monthly demand reviews as part of the integrated business planning processes.

    • Support the development of unified tools, systems, and processes aligned with WestRock IT roadmap and Path to One company strategy to unify planning processes across the organization. Strategic thought leader for Demand Planning group: identifies solution gaps, proposes new ideas, and is able to validate and socialize changes.

    • Provide thought leadership on growth opportunities and channel strategy across WestRock's businesses for North America

    • Drive consensus with Commercial, Marketing, and Finance teams, as well as other key stakeholders to ensure shared goals are achieved. Owner and facilitator of the monthly unconstrained demand planning review meeting with division/segment leadership. Responsible for the quality of all monthly demand planning deliverables, follow-ups, and KPI accuracy for assigned area.

    • Establishes KPI targets, sets priorities, and leads team of analysts for assigned business segment.

    • Leads a team of individual contributors supporting demand planning activities.

    • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enable forecast accuracy metric improvements and other related KPIs.

    • Maintain existing process and implement continuous improvement projects for tuning forecasts models within the demand planning software.

    • Uses a deep understanding of the business and analytics to sets tolerances and guidelines for handling exception management practices.

    • Gather, validate, and leverage market intelligence to enhance the accuracy of the forecasts.

    • Understand and incorporate industry trends and best practices.

    What you need to succeed

    • Highly experienced manager with 7+ years' experience in supply chain planning with a heavy focus on demand planning.

    • 3+ years of direct management experience

    • Experience with advanced planning software (SAP, Blue Yonder, Logility, o9); ideally through implementation of new tools

    • In-depth knowledge of demand planning statistical and multi-corollary modeling methods

    • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

    • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills and attention to details

    • BS in engineering, supply chain management, operations, or similar analytical fields

    • Master of Business Administration or relevant MS degree is preferred
