    Job Summary:

    The Deputy Program Manager will assist the Program Manager withday-to-day duties relating to the execution of the program. The Deputy must demonstrate the ability to take initiative and show a strong willingness to learn. The Deputy will manage administrative and operational tasks in coordination with the PM and Team Leads, and interface with the government leadership and corporate leadership. General responsibilities include but are not limited to personnel actions including the hiring process, performance reviews, and corrective actions; writing contract deliverables; reviewing and coordinating travel, surge, and materials requests, coordinating with internal Akima resources as needed; and assisting on business winning.

    Job Responsibilities:

    Assist the Program Manager with day-to-day duties to include, but not limited to:

    • Issue basic job assignments, establish employee work plans, work schedules, document and monitor compliance.

    • Assist PM with taking action to correct or reward performance and conduct performance evaluations.

    • In coordination with PM, maintain daily contact with employees, Government POC's (e.g., TTMs) and Contracting Officer Representative (COR) to develop close working relationships, ensuring lines of communication are open and clear.

    • Develop personnel requisitions and job descriptions for recruiting. Review applicant resumes, conduct interviews, assist in selection process. Help onboard and train new employees.

    • Coordinate with Akima FSO and COR to ensure smooth onboarding to the client spaces and systems.

    • Work with employees and subcontractors to facilitate travel, surge, and material requests and arrangements.

    • Assist PM to manage and control contract cost, schedule, scope, and compliance, ensuring employees meet requirements of day-to-day activities as specified in the Statement of Work.

    • Maintain and initiate written and electronic records of contract deliverables and personnel-related items.

    • Identify, monitor, schedule, conduct and document Akima and government required training. Track and maintain specialized certifications across the team.

    • Communicate and keep PM and POC's abreast of all developments, issues or concerns in a timely and efficient manner.

    • Assist in development of weekly, monthly, and quarterly CDRL reports and other requirements.

    • Assist PM in development and review of requests for information or requests for quote, statements of work, and other data calls.

    • Maintain spreadsheets for weekly and monthly reports to the Government and Corporate office.

    • Assist with proposal preparation and supporting documentation for new opportunities.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • BA and/or 5 years of government contracting experience.

    • Willingness to work toward obtaining a PMP certification.

    • Top Secret Clearance with SCI (TS/SCI).

    • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.

    • Knowledge of federal contracts.

    • Understanding of contract tasks and deliverables.

    • Skilled in the areas of team leadership with an emphasis on planning, supervising, and motivating team members to ensure high quality, consistent service delivery.

    • Strong operational skills that include the ability to develop and implement strategies and action plans to achieve desired objectives.
