  • The Director of Corporate Insurance is responsible for leading Fortive Corporation's global insurance program. The successful candidate will collaborate with Fortive's Legal, EHS, Finance, Facilities, Tax, and other functions at the corporate, segment and operating company (OpCo) levels.

    With Fortive's broad reach across different business workflows and geographies, the successful candidate is expected to exhibit insurance and risk management acumen, cultural competence, awareness of financial and tax impact, and the ability to work independently and practically to address the full range of global insurance and risk management issues facing Fortive. You will work closely with brokers, insurance carriers, and colleagues located throughout the globe to support Fortive's global insurance placements, captive insurance strategies, loss mitigation, contractual risk transfer and claims management processes. You will need to possess a strong intellect, agility and sound and practical judgment. The Director of Corporate Insurance must have a blend of strategic and tactical skills that allows them to engage with all levels across Fortive and with external partners. You must be a self-starter who advances process improvements and exercises sound risk management judgment.

    This position will report to Fortive Corporation's Vice President, Associate General Counsel & Corporate Secretary.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Review, design, implement, and manage Fortive's global insurance programs and related standard work.

    • Provide guidance and recommendations for insurance provisions (for all lines of insurance) including coverage amounts and insurance budget and allocation.

    • Recommend decisions on risk management and coverage cost issues affecting the organization to senior and executive management.

    • Possess overall responsibility for RMIS (risk management information system). Manage global risk exposure data collection, QA/QC, and automation of processes and procedures.

    • Manage the claims reporting process, in conjunction with Legal, and facilitate loss prevention initiatives and resources throughout the organization.

    • Be the primary facilitator and contact for third-party relationships with Insurance Broker, RMIS vendor, TPA's, Insurance Carriers and other key program supporters.

    • Develop and facilitate the training of internal partners regarding the insurance program and processes.

    • Respond to internal and external requests for insurance information.

    • Help drive internal insurance communications strategies.

    • Conduct/oversee insurance due diligence for acquisitions and oversee integration of newly-acquired businesses into Fortive insurance program.

    • Manage the administrative elements of Fortive's insurance programs, including coordinating with Finance to develop and distribute the allocation of insurance costs among the OpCos; coordinating premium payment; and coordinating the completion of insurance application forms as required.

    • Support global risk management-related projects as assigned.

    • Participate in diligence for potential acquisitions and facilitate the integration of newly acquired businesses into Fortive's insurance programs.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Superior analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability.

    Ability to identify issues and use independent judgment to solve problems and provide solutions for complex insurance issues.

    Be flexible and work well independently in a fast-paced, high-performance and deadline-driven environment.

    Prior experience leading a cross-functional team, following processes and meeting timelines.

    Prior work experience in a highly decentralized organization is preferred.

    Familiarity with the operations of a single parent captive insurance company.

    Ability to conceptualize insurance projects or programs from start to finish to effectively manage and keep initiatives on schedule while adapting to sudden changes and shifting priorities.

    Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to a diverse audience at multiple levels within the company through various formats, such as presentations, written proposals, reports, correspondence, leading meetings, face-to-face dialogue etc.

    Ability to work under pressure, handle complex change management and prioritize key activities.

    Keen attention to detail.

    Excellent PC Skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree.

    • 7-10+ years in insurance, risk management or property & casualty with global experience; prior relevant experience at a broker or in-house risk management preferred.

    • Risk management designation(s) or working towards (e.g., CPCU, ACII, FCII, ARM) preferred.

    • Experience with Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) a plus.

    • Project Management Certification (PMP or CSM Certified) preferred.

    Everett, WA: The salary range for this position is $153,410 - $284,740

    National: The salary range for this position is $133,400 - $247,600

    This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

    Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location. The Total Rewards package includes competitive base pay and an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and several programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work.
