    Overview

    Infrastructure Design Engineering (IDE) are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the infrastructure environments for the various programs at Mastercard. We pride ourselves in delivering scalable & reliable IT infrastructure, including compute, storage, and network.

    This is an exciting opportunity to build and lead a team that's going to change the face of how we provision application infrastructure at Mastercard. As part of this team, we are looking to take our innovation to the next level and set up an IDE Automation team who will be solely dedicated to automating the delivery of the infrastructure services we provide.

    The Role

    As a Software Engineering Director, you will have the following responsibilities:

    o Hands-on technical leader who brings strong experience in application development.

    o Engage with Product and leadership team to understand the vision and help take that vision through design, development and delivery.

    o Provide input into strategic technical decisions, leading with an agile mindset and pivoting as new information surfaces.

    o Keep stakeholders informed of progress.

    o Champion innovation and ensure engineering excellence is at the forefront of everything the team do.

    o Consistently raise standards, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.

    o Manage, and develop the careers of a small cross-functional engineering team.

    o Continuously engage with the team by conducting recurring 1-1 meetings, providing guidance, timely feedback, and coaching.

    o Drive goal setting and accountability practices for the team.

    o Recruit and retain the brightest talent.

    Skills

    o Software development engineering experience with hands on knowledge of agile software development processes.

    o Proven ability in building strong relationships and collaboration skills.

    o Must be highly organised, detail-oriented and proactive.

    o Strong technologist with proven track record of learning new technologies and frameworks.

    o Experienced in identifying and implementing improvements to development processes.

    o Have the ability to motivate and energize a team and the drive to create a best in class team culture.

    o Skilled at communicating to all levels of the organization.

    o Understanding of high availability applications, scalability, resiliency, performance, security & operational excellence.

    o Ability to build and maintain high performing teams with servant leadership approach.

    Exposure to any of the following an advantage

    o Familiar with the languages (e.g., Java, Python, Golang, C#) and familiar with secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT) and vulnerability management

    o Exposure to tools (e.g., Sonar, Zally, Checkmarx) and techniques to scan and measure code quality and anti-patterns as part of development activity

    o Experience developing with databases (e.g. MongoDB, Postgres)

    o Experience developing frontend solutions with Angular or React or other modern frameworks.

    o Has skills to orchestrate release workflows and pipelines and apply standardized pipelines via APIs to achieve CI and CD using industry standard tools (e.g., Jenkins, XL Release, others).

    In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
