    This role owns critical components of the Java market and customer strategy, positioning Java more thoughtfully and deliberately in the context of cloud, cloud workloads, and multiple sales and solution offerings for enterprise platform customers and partners.

    This position requires superior communication skills, adeptness at driving executive level engagement with customers (internal and external) from initial discussions through to success and beyond while maximizing ROI. A strong mix of business and technical acumen is required, and ability to optimally engage and partner cross-organizationally with multiple technology teams and business organizations is imperative for success.

    Outstanding understanding of enterprise environments, inclusive of cloud services, development models, and application ecosystems, including but not limited to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, is required; expertise with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, popular language and system tooling (Containers, Cloud Native, DevOps, AIOps) will be critical as this role will partner cross-organizationally internally and externally to create new integrations, plugins, offerings and more for share of the increasingly driven hybrid multi-cloud market, valued at ~$130B in 2024, with an expected increase to over ~$350B in 2029, with a CAGR of 22.12%.

    Demonstrated success collaborating with engineering, product management, marketing, sales teams, and more is required to help drive both business and technical wins at multiple stages of product development and sales engagements. This role is focused on Java & the cloud, and will drive Java Cloud Services product strategy, and inbound & outbound efforts around customer engagement models, new solutions and offerings, research into new market opportunities (TAM), and support and scale critical functions like pre-sales, product marketing, and more with c-level leadership and engagement. This role also extends to analysts and the media, investors, to assist Oracle in the broader technology market.

    Must understand sophisticated customer needs and requirements across multiple environments (on-premises, hybrid, cloud) and be able to communicate technical customer requirements or needs to engineering teams, organizations, and uplevel for business audiences as applicable. This role reports to the Vice President of Java Cloud Services in the Java Platform Group.

    This role will

    • Collaborate across multiple internal teams (sales, engineering, product marketing) for Customer Advisory & Success groups.

    • Collaborate with Product Management on feedback from customers, potential customers and "the field" coming into overall strategy. Use experience in Cloud to grow maturity of Cloud offerings. Help prioritize features and roadmaps.

    • Collaborate and partner with OCI teams for early feedback on Java Management Service and additional offerings.

    • Build BDM & TDM level content, focusing on needs across breadth (business), depth (technical), and across multiple industries.

    • Build MOAs (Market Opportunity Analysis) of new opportunities for products, services, customer acquisition, sales strategies, and revenue generation.

    • Work with sales to increase land and expand strategy in critical accounts; further foster and develop relationships with target c-level members of enterprise customer ecosystem.

    • Collaborate with OCI and other Oracle teams to identify and develop ecosystem and channel partnerships as applicable.

    • Build and iterate on Metrics, Scorecards, reporting.

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of relevant hands-on experience with cloud and enterprise software.

    • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, executive presence.

    • Proven track record working with and engaging engineers and architects, CTOs, CIOs, CISOs internally and externally.

    • Strong Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

    • A team player, willing to roll-up sleeves to get the job done, and step up and lead new and high-impact initiatives and programs with innovative ideas.

    • Understanding of cloud economic and business strategies, P&L, sales plays and more.

    Responsibilities

    As a Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

    US: Hiring Range: from $135,100 to $291,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
