    Job Description

    Objective

    Coordinating purchases for one or more purchasing commodities

    • Drafting, getting validated and deploying the target purchasing policies for one or more commodities in accordance with the needs and objectives of the internal customers (contracting customers)

    • Guaranteeing the attainment of objectives within your scope in terms of gains and service level expected by Safran: - through the establishment of a supplier panel (deriving from the target panel recommended by the target purchasing policy), according to the supplier selection and contractualization process applicable in the Group - through compliance by suppliers with their contractual commitments (including operational performance and costs).

    Authorities

    This position works under the general guidance of the VP, Purchasing. It has the authority and control to direct Supplier Selection, Supplier Contracting and Purchasing Data Activities (Purchase Price, Lead Time, MOQ's, etc.), in conjunction with Seats level supplier strategies where applicable.

    Complementary Description

    Main function Responsibilities

    A) Coordinating, drafting and proposing to the purchasing director of your company (or the Group) the target purchasing policy for the commodity concerned, in accordance with the objectives of your company.

    B) Coordinating invitations to tender, implementing the supplier selection process

    C) Negotiating and drawing up contracts with the selected suppliers

    D) Managing the panel of suppliers.

    E) Managing supplier relations.

    F) Reporting back to the purchasing department of your company or of the Group

    G) Being the key contact of the lead family buyer (company or Group), when there is one

    H) Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations and especially internal standards at Safran

    I) Perform other duties as assigned.

    Job Requirements

    Qualification Requirements

    A. Education & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree (Masters Preferred) in Business, Engineering or other related field or 12 years related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's level degree to meet the education requirement.

    B. Work Experience:

    • 10 years hands on Managerial experience in a complex Supply Chain organization preferably in the Aircraft Industry.

    C. Professional Skills:

    • Expert knowledge in all areas of Commodity Management and Purchasing activities and product realization process.

    • Thorough knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement concepts.

    • Process mapping skills.

    D. Behavioral Skills:

    • Effective communicator, motivator and leader.

    • Purpose driven thinking.

    • Must be able to empower, coach and motivate others, both inside and outside of direct team to accomplish tasks with a strategic, global mindset by effectively communicating applicable materials, metrics, and a vision of end state; but be able to direct as necessary.

    E. Desirable Aspects:

    • Bilingual (English & Spanish) Communications Ability

    • Advanced Degree

    • Project Management Professional (PMP), CSCP/CPM or other accredited professional Certifications

    • Green Belt Certification

    • Strong knowledge of MAPICS ERP, Powerlink and other localized systems central to the input, management and reporting of relevant Purchasing data

    • Proficient with Excel, Access and other data base management tools

    Specificity of the job

    International and/or Domestic travel required; up to 20%
