    Job Summary and Qualifications

    • Plan, organize, direct and control the facilities management functions of the hospital including but not limited to planning, design, construction, alteration, operation, maintenance and disposal of plant facilities and equipment.

    • Establish goals, objectives, standards of performance, develop and implement operating policies and procedures; interpret policies, standards, regulations and codes to personnel.

    • Establish and implement the Safety Committee, standards for compliance to Joint Commission, TDLR, OSHA, local Fire Authorities and other governing agencies.

    • The Director will supervise all personnel assigned to the Plant Operations Department.

    • Will serve as interim Safety Officer and ensures Environment of Care for Joint Commission requirements are met.

    • This individual will also respond to "Code White" announcements, and/or reports of escalating behavior while on duty, as requested.

    • De-escalation training must be obtained within 3 months of employment, and maintained thereafter in a current status.

    What qualifications you will need:

    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree from a school in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent education such as an Associate's Degree and Certified Hospital Facilities Manager.

    • Will substitute 4 years of experience for degree.

    Experience:

    • Five years' experience, preferably in hospital facilities management.

    • Sufficient previous progressively responsible experience.

    • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, local standards and codes, and requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies; standard operating procedures for plant operation; budget development, control and direction; personnel management; work standards for skilled personnel; material and equipment suppliers.

    Licenses/Certificates:

    • C.P.I. - De-escalation certification within 90 days of hires and must maintain certification in a current status
