    JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

    The Director of Financial Systems is responsible for providing leadership and strategic initiative direction related to the roadmap for financial systems, enhancements, upgrades, and new system implementations for Truist Insurance Holdings (TIH).The Director of Financial Systems provides supervision and leadership in the development, maintenance, accuracy and ongoing operation of complex and heavily integrated financial systems and technologies in support of multiple complex business units. These systems include but are not limited to: Workday Financials (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Business Assets, Expense Reporting, etc.) and Blackline, among others.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

    1. Oversee and lead a team of financial systems support professionals with responsibility for a wide variety of activities, including partnering with key stakeholders to provide solutions for business requirements, support of the general ledger, reporting systems and other integrated financial systems.

    2. Oversee general ledger, reporting systems and other related systems administration and integrity for TIH and ensure data integrity, accuracy and availability across multiple financial systems and environments.

    3. Responsible for the Workday general ledger chart of accounts and worktag governance, change management and end to end maintenance process in multiple integrated financial systems. The chart of accounts is the foundation for internal management reporting to Executive Leadership, Board of Directors and Senior Leadership and is also the foundation for external reporting.

    4. Oversee the governance, change management, end to end maintenance and publication process of all financial reporting hierarchies including general ledger accounts, cost centers, products, and any other necessary structures to support the reporting needs of various lines of business in a complex reporting environment.

    5. Provide vision and leadership on financial systems technology improvements and upgrades and develop comprehensive information technology strategies for financial reporting systems.

    6. Directly responsible for daily, monthly, quarterly and annual processing for financial systems. Provide critical support to the financial close process as it relates to financial systems and data.

    7. Ensure operational and business processes are adhered to, service level agreements are met, accurate financial reporting and adequate internal controls are maintained. Directly responsible for ensuring compliance with multiple key significant SOX controls related to financial systems and master data management.

    8. Proactively provide counsel to senior leaders on the financial system impacts/requirements related to new accounting pronouncements, system conversions and acquisitions.

    9. Oversee the maintenance and administration of key financial reports, including the GAAP balance sheet and income statement. Oversee the development, testing and implementation of conceptual frameworks that may be required for analyzing operating results or compliance with regulatory requirements.

    10. Manage and actively contribute to strategic projects that may have a significant impact to Truist, such as the selection, design, development, and implementation of financial reporting systems. Ensure that financial reporting controls remain strong.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent education and related training

    2. Active CPA license

    3. Fifteen years of relevant finance systems experience, preferably in the banking industry

    4. Seven to ten years in an environment using integrated platforms, integrated data and governance platforms

    5. Seven to ten years of leadership and supervisory experience

    6. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, with the ability to define problems and persuasively present conclusions

    7. Intelligent, strong and decisive leadership within an organization as a result of high integrity, intellectual clarity and a passion for excellence

    1. Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
