    Bunzl Processor Division is seeking a Director of Flexible Packaging for our location in the North Kansas City, MO, area. The Director will focus on developing strategies to increase revenues in the flexible packaging category. This position will lead a team of packaging specialists, category management, and packaging services to provide in-house support while driving sales growth, margin, and profitability within target business segments.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop strategies to target new opportunities as well as expand line of existing product categories, within flexible packaging.

    • Develop strategies to penetrate current customer base by introducing new product lines and by working with strategic packaging vendors and category management.

    • Lead team of Packaging Specialists, Category Management, and Packaging Services to promote increased sales and profits while maximizing preferred vendor relationships.

    • Work with cross functional teams to roll out strategic initiatives in key product areas.

    • Work with sales leadership to track and hold accountable sales goals.

    • Establish goals and objectives for growth in both sales and profits while maintaining a high service level to the customer.

    • Drive cost out while consolidating product lines where applicable.

    • Travel to customer and vendor meetings as necessary.

    • Provide a regular sales report to senior management by recapping selling activities, sales pipeline and forecast as well as key opportunities trends and competitive information.

    Requirements:

    • BA/BS in Business Management or related field strongly preferred

    • Minimum of 5 years of sales management or category management in flexible packaging experience strongly preferred

    • Previous P/L experience preferred

    • Previous experience in sales or sourcing to the food industry strongly preferred

    • Excellent verbal and written communications required

    • Ability to develop strong working relationships and work well within a team environment

    • Able to work independently and to be self-directed

    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel

    • Must be able to travel, with over night stays up to 25%.
