    What you'll do...

    This role will drive Walmart's technology vision, strategy, and roadmap in one or multiple domains and help our teams achieve Engineering and Operational excellence. If you enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment and influencing the strategic direction of a large global organization, this position will provide you with a challenging opportunity.

    This is a critical technical leadership role that brings together your past engineering design experiences, thought leadership and your abilities to build bonds with developers, product managers and other engineering leaders to develop platforms and product that operate at Walmart-scale. You will architect, design, develop and lead by influence a world class group of engineers across the geographies that are bound by a common Walmart-wide theme of creating elegant solutions for the complex problems and enable customers to save more and live better - every single day.

    What You Will Do

    As Director of Engineering for the OMS team, you will be managing a team of 25+ engineers over time. The role entails the following responsibilities:

    • Technically lead and mentor a high-performance engineering team, engineering managers and provide strategic direction and guidance to ensure delivery of high-quality products

    • Build and manage relations with the business partners and understand their business requirements. Closely work with the Product Management, Architects, and cross-functional teams

    • Work with stakeholders to define the future roadmap of the products, adopt latest technology innovation wherever necessary

    • Build tools and automation to prevent re-occurrence of problems to mission-critical products and services and engender reliability and availability, starting with metrics and measurements

    • Define engineering practices, product development patterns and drive products development to scale to Walmart requirements.

    • Follow agile methodologies and program practices in product development lifecycle and focus on team productivity improvements using right tools and processes.

    • Hire talent, mentor and grow the team.

    • Proactively monitor, identify and resolve supply chain issues.

    What You Will Bring

    • Strong engineering leadership expertise in medium to large size company.

    • Proven experience in hiring and mentoring world-class engineering teams.

    • Leading largescale systems in fast-paced environments,

    • Expertise in full stack technologies (Java, ~~~, React, NoSQL/SQL etc.)

    • Experience in one or more public cloud technologies like GCP, Azure, etc.

    • Experience in working in large teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies.

    • Providing thought leadership and defining technology strategies

    • Being an admired subject matter expert in one or multiple technology areas

    • Directing and reviewing architectural artifacts (for example, proof of concepts, prototypes, architectural design) and providing valuable recommendations for improvements

    • Advising or conducting POCs to vet out new technologies

    • Driving for Architecture, Engineering, and Technology excellence

    • Big-picture and strategic thinking

    • Prioritizing, focusing, and delivering tangible results

    • Delivering with agility, urgency, and quality

    • Building trust and credibility quickly with Sr. Leadership and stakeholders

    • Being a self-starter, with a positive and Can-Do Spirit

    The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00

    Minimum Qualifications...

    Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and6 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

    Option 2: 8 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

    3 years' supervisory experience.
