  • We are seeking a Division Financial Controller for a Development based in Miami, Florida.

    This role presents a unique opportunity at the intersection of Accounting and Finance. We are seeking an individual who can seamlessly handle the Controllership responsibilities while also possessing a strategic financial mindset to drive, propose, and advise on business decisions using real-time financial data. In this role, you will become an invaluable business partner to the Senior Leadership of the Division.

    Role Overview

    Responsibilities shall include management of the accounting process, budgeting, payroll, etc.

    Additional responsibilities include overseeing the preparation of bank draws, monitoring cash flow, coordination with banking and bonding relationships. Controller shall prepare the financial statements for review by management and shall coordinate the year-end review by an external CPA firm as well as the preparation of income tax returns.

    Prospective candidates shall be prepared to

    • Manage financial risk, financial planning, record keeping and financial reporting for multiple entities

    • Prepare interim and year-end financial statements companies

    • Prepare and track monthly billings and accounts receivable

    • Prepare and track month-end and annual profit projections on job and company level

    • Reconcile general ledger accounts and record month-end and year-end adjusting entries

    • Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations

    • Manage fixed asset schedules and track current year additions and deletions

    • Oversee annual financial audit procedures and provide tax information to preparers

    • Prepare 1099s,

    • Process payroll

    • Create annual overhead budgets and manage general overhead expenses

    • Research and implement changes to GAAP accounting standards and tax requirements

    • Assess company risk and implement appropriate risk strategies

    • Oversee general office management and office contracts or service agreements

    • Other tasks as assigned or required based on business needs

    Requirements

    To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

    • A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in both Accounting and Finance.

    • Previous leadership experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller

    • CPA and/or MBA qualifications are highly preferred.

    • Strong preference for candidates with a background in the services, engineering, or architecture industries.

    Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $135,000.00 per year
