    About the role

    As an Energy Manager, you will support the implementation of energy initiatives to help measure and improve performance of multiple facility types within a life sciences account. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and monitoring efficient energy practices for client facilities/assets. The team is always looking for ways to improve energy usage and acts as a consultant to CBRE staff or clients on the latest energy and environmental practices.

    What you'll do

    • Lead identification and prioritization of energy capital projects, operational efficiency and physical plant upgrades, resulting in reduced energy consumption (may include HVAC, lighting, building envelope, demand response and controls, renewable energy, employee engagement, and evaluating new technologies and services).

    • Engage Facilities Management team to identify and develop energy projects. Responsible for formalizing scope, acquiring quotes, evaluating financial viability, performing project savings analysis, budgeting and acquiring project approval.

    • Support new business pursuits and business development through relationship building and building walkthroughs. Perform energy analysis and efficiency calculations.

    • Understand and calculate building energy consumption profiles and energy savings from projects.

    • Support the application of global energy and sustainability standards throughout.

    • Implement programs to achieve savings goals and targets by specified timelines.

    • Run energy benchmarking and energy assessments.

    • Communicate past, present and future energy plans and performance through formal presentations to account team and client.

    What you'll need

    • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) preferred or no less than five years of related experience and/or training.

    • CEM and LEED accreditation preferred.

    • The candidate should be a self-starter and have the ability to strategically drive an energy program with new ideas and solutions.

    • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize responsibilities. Strong program management and leadership skills.

    • Carbon footprint reporting experience or training preferred; Training and accreditation part of development and performance management requirements.
