  • Purpose and Scope:

    The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and performance of engineering and operational activities for an assigned project. Plans, designs, develops statements of work, and coordinates complex projects related to test plans, execution processes, system modifications, procedures and equipment to ensure effective implementation. In addition, the Project Manager retains ownership over communication of such projects with internal Amentum managers/ employees, external agencies, and the Government.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    Plans and coordinates implementation of projects to assure timely completion on time and within budgetary guidelines. Areas of ownership will be demonstrated through schedule coordination with engineering, procurement, construction, and external clients, supporting Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) and detailed estimates for projects, as well as risk assessments to support proper project prioritization. Develops project statement of work in accordance with corporate and government guidelines. Provides project management expertise relevant to the subject matter to include resolution of project design and implementation issues. Provide critical path analysis, identify problem areas, and create work-around solutions. Interface with customers in design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications. Timely creation and maintenance of project cost report. Coordinates customer interface in terms of scope of work, feasibility, performance schedules, and objectives. Advises team on matters affecting project success, schedule and cost impacts, and develops project recovery plans. Represents the organization in meetings/conferences which are conducted to resolve important questions and to plan/coordinate work as required. Assist in the preparation of Task Plans and other reports and correspondence. Prepare and submit weekly & monthly reports for internal and external clients. Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status. Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.

    Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

    Minimum Requirements

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related scientific field, and at least five years of job related experience; or equivalent. Good communication and analytical skills. Advanced working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Experience with MS Word, Excel and MS Project.

    U. S. Citizenship required for unescorted access to assigned work area(s). Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). If required, must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with design of facility related infrastructure.

    Cost estimating experience.

    Working knowledge of Power BI Solutions.

    PMP certification.

    Local candidates; no relocation funding provided.
