    Environmental Project Manager

    POWER Engineers' Environmental Division, an industry leader, provides planning and siting, permitting, civil engineering, site assessment, and corrective action services to clients worldwide. Our diverse staff, with their expertise in air, water, waste, land use, ecological, and cultural resources, contributes to multiple industries in 45 offices worldwide.

    We seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager for full-time employment supporting our Rocky Mountain Project Management and Planning Department. This position offers a hybrid work style (part remote/part in-office) environment based in Salt Lake City, UT office.

    This is a full-time, salaried position with an excellent benefits package and, if desired, a hybrid work schedule that combines office and at-home work.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    The primary focus for this Project Manager is to provide environmental services and strategies to clients involving siting, routing, permitting, and construction of electric transmission lines and substations, renewable energy projects, and midstream pipelines (CO2, natural gas, and hydrogen).

    Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

    • Manage multiple projects in various phases of development and geographic locations ranging from the routing/siting phase to the construction compliance phase

    • Manage and direct resource teams on environmental studies and associated permit applications; coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies for project permitting

    • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, which could include engineers, attorneys, planners, GIS analysts, permitting and environmental resource specialists, land agents, and construction compliance monitors

    • Communicate with the public and community stakeholders at hearings and public meetings

    • Client coordination, including preparing and monitoring project scope, budget, schedule, and forecasting

    • Participate in field reviews, project compliance inspections, and site meetings

    • Travel from 10 to 25% of time for client and internal meetings

    Required Education/Experience

    • B.S. or B.A. in Environmental Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related degree

    • Eight (8) + years of professional experience conducting and managing environmental licensing and permitting in Western states, preferably related to renewable energy or utility operations.

    • Knowledge and demonstrated expertise in federal and state environmental policy and regulation.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, defining and understanding client requirements, managing expectations, communicating with clients and project staff.

    • Interest in pursuing business development leads, generating written proposals and presentations, and capturing project work.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs (M.S. Project, PowerPoint, etc.), Google Earth, ArcGIS web mapping

    • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    Preferred Education/Experience

    • · Professional certifications as applicable to technical expertise

    • · Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental licensing & permitting regulations to facilitate utility infrastructure projects in the Western U.S.

    Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is 85K-120K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
