    Position Summary

    As a key member of the Payer Relations leadership team this Executive Director plays a vital role in informing and executing strategies to address payer and industry requirements and needs. This role sits in the center of the business transformation within one of the world's strongest healthcare companies. An ideal candidate exhibits an intellectual curiosity to understand the dynamics shaping the pharmaceutical industry, the tenacity to address complex business problems, and leadership skills to direct cross-functional teams. Additionally, the role works cross functionally to develop go to market tactics, complete tactical assessments, and measure results for the various retail pharmacy network, product, and service initiatives.

    This role owns and manages the development of the Payer Relations toolkit that consolidates information about all data sources and resources used during the contracting process, including CRM (Salesforce), CLM (Ariba), Profitability data insight integration (Foundry), Business Intelligence tools (CMS Dashboard, Market Share). In addition, this role also leads the initiation, execution, and measurement for key strategic projects. They will be working cross functionally with legal, operations, finance and the Payer Relations Team to develop, communicate, and execute strategies and opportunities to achieve CVS organizational business objectives. The ability to develop and track performance measurements is a critical leadership quality in this role.

    The position is central to aligning wide-ranging stakeholders across the organization. Therefore, experience in building effective relationships and influential skills are essential. This role will work across the enterprise with IT, Finance, Analytics, Payer Relations and Rx Product Development innovation teams to integrate multiple outputs into a unified narrative for the Retail President and Sr leaders. The Executive Director will report to the VP Payer Relations, but will hold relationships across a large number of Retail Pharmacy teams. This role requires the ability to connect workstreams and partners across disparate teams, solving problems creatively and efficiently. More importantly, a comprehensive understanding and ability to translate the roadmaps of dependent partners across the Enterprise (i.e., Digital, Operations, Pharmacy Services, Payer Relations, etc.) is paramount.

    Required Qualifications

    Knowledge of

    • 5+ years of experience in a Healthcare leadership role.

    • 8+ years of experience managing large-scale projects in complex business environments

    • Experience working with a geographically diverse team of primarily Work-from-Home colleagues

    • Proven financial acumen and ability to identify the impact of changes on budget goals and financial targets.

    • Experience with pharmacy products, payers, and operations with the ability to solve complex problems through people in other functional organizations.

    • Extensive experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving innovation.

    • Experience facilitating buy-in and engagement across diverse stakeholder groups.

    • Ability to anticipate risks and mitigate effectively.

    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including active listening, self-management and awareness, emotional intelligence, and ability to flex interpersonal style

    Skill In

    • Healthcare and Pharmacy current/emerging trend management strategies.

    • Experience working with varying levels of contacts, including executive leadership, department leadership, capability enablers and consultants.

    • Strong communicator with the ability to facilitate communication across BUs/SSOs.

    • Demonstrated success in the areas of collaboration, team work, and execution across multiple departments to deliver results.

    • Retail Pharmacy and/or Health Services sector

    • Pharmacy, consulting, or related experience involving presentation and economic modeling and analyses

    • Master's degree preferred (MBA)

    • Experienced presentation skills to facilitate the review and understanding of materials.

    Pay Range

    The typical pay range for this role is

    $131,500.00 - $303,200.00

    This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
