    Who are we looking for? We are looking for skilled Facilities Engineering Manager to join our team who are enthusiastic about maintaining the built environment and its core building systems. The selected individual will be reporting into the eastern region Director of Facilities Engineering where they be working alongside skilled engineers and tradespersons tasked with the oversite and repair of building systems spanning across various space types (Engineering and environmental labs, manufacturing floors, office space, electrical and mechanical rooms, etc.). The individual will be integrated with a growing team of Plant Engineering professionals tasked with maintaining the Endicott, NY campus. You will be part of a larger team of 340 individuals all working in a similar fashion and move in lockstep to achieve our objectives.

    Job Description

    Site Plant Engineering Manager for the operation and maintenance of infrastructure and services supporting BAE s Endicott, New York site located at 1301 North St.

    The Endicott facility sits on a multi-tenant campus. BAE Systems, Inc. occupies 653,000 square feet in 9 buildings supporting various internal businesses and functions. The lease is triple net. BAE is responsible for all internal maintenance on these buildings. Supporting infrastructure includes, HW boilers, electrical distribution, generators, HVAC rooftop units, HVAC split units, fire alarm systems, security systems, and IT infrastructure to name a few. Campus occupancy, approximately 1500 people.

    This position reports to the Eastern Regional Facilities Director and manage a staff of direct reports consisting of various facilities mechanics, a mechanic supervisor, administrative assistant, facilities planners, and facilities engineers. This position will also be responsible for janitorial services throughout the campus performed by an outside contractor that provides a supervisor to oversee the janitorial staff. The facilities manager is responsible for all cafeteria services throughout the site provided by an outside contractor with a chef/manager to oversee the cafeteria staff reporting into the facilities manager.

    The successful candidate will have experience in and demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties outlined. Communicate effectively both orally and written. Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers and suppliers. Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documents. Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations. Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule. Design and develop improvements using state-of-the-art technology, principles, theories and concepts.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Receive limited direction and manage with significant discretion and with independent judgment in taking action and making decisions related to managing assigned department.

    • Provide department interface and extensive contact with the Site Executive(s), Site Leadership, Department Managers, Lab Managers, and other key building occupants. Provide leadership and support as required for the Business Continuity Program and act as Incident Commander for scenarios highlighted in the Emergency Response/Incident Management Plan.

    • Develop relations and collaborate with other functional support organizations such as Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE), Security, IT, and Finance. Work closely and collaborate within the facility functions such as planning, real estate, engineering, sustainability, facility services and other peer site managers.

    • Manage, select, supervise, counsel, train and evaluate a team of exempt and non-exempt personnel in accordance with company policies.

    • Ensure facility, infrastructure, grounds and parking areas are maintained in a safe accessible state of repair to ensure a sustained operation 24/7/365.

    • Manage building services such as housekeeping, trash removal, recycling, repairs and maintenance using a combination of vendor and in-house resources.

    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.

    • Develop multi-year capital plan and annual expense budgets. Upon final budget approvals, manage to those budgets.

    • Manage local Sustainability Initiative plans, goals and objectives, to ensure strategy alignment with company focus.

    • As the Incident Commander, support the BAE Systems business continuity program as defined in the emergency response/crisis management plan. Document all site incidents, including observations and corrective actions.

    • Implement a strategy of continuous improvement focused on improved delivery of sector strategies, facilities objectives, and company initiatives. Drive a reduction in operating costs or improvements in process efficiencies and productivity through innovative change.

    • Optimize facilities space planning throughout the campus by providing all required office, lab, manufacturing, and warehouse areas as needs arise. Maintain all building drawings and floor plans revising them as design changes/modifications are made.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Electrical Civil, Industrial Engineering or Technical Field and 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    • PMP Certification

    • Master's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial Engineering, Sustainability or similar degree

    Pay Information

    Full-Time Salary Range: $115100 - $195700

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
