  • ROLE SUMMARY

    The Global Medical Channel Excellence (MCE) Lead will deliver end-to-end medical channel strategy coordination and implementation tracking across the Pfizer portfolio to drive the engagement and reach of emerging scientific information. In partnership with the Medical Channel (MCE) LT, the Global and International MCE LTs, and respective Category Teams, the Global MCE Lead will define implementation success and optimized approaches for global channel planning and development, which will support the amplification and reach of content across internal Pfizer and external 3rd party (global and regional) channels of with speed, efficiency & impact. The Global MCE Lead is a subject matter expert in medical communications, data dissemination and channel strategies - which will enable them to understand, contribute, and propel seamless coordination across various cross functional partners and relationships across enterprise partners to drive excellence in medical content creation and dissemination, and serves as a strategic thought partner to proactively resolve issues around medical channel optimization.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead cross-TA enterprise level initiatives on behalf of the Medical Channel Excellence organization pillars to drive successful implementation and change management of the Pfizer Digital Engagement Initiatives, digital initiatives for channel planning and development for medical communication and publication amplification, medical HCP profile mapping and segmentation, medical congress strategy, ad board implementation and innovation, and new opportunities that advance Medical Channel impact throughout the organization and to the HCPs and patients we serve.

    • Lead the alignment to ensure a cohesive and coordinated pull through of Medical Channel Excellence strategies across the MCE pillars.

    • Serve as subject matter expert on medical channels design, deployment, and designing the best templates to inform amplification across medical channels including: publications, video abstracts, infographics on social channels, plain language summaries (PLS), congress aware content, field medical content, and content format for newly prioritized medical channels

    • Lead cross-category medical initiatives that harmonizes ways of working, builds best practice sharing forums, community of practices, and standardizes channel activation and medical content dissemination processes

    • Serve as champion for innovation and change to ensure medical communications and data dissemination strategies lead to precise and where possible, personalized delivery of medical information aimed at addressing unmet needs and closing care gaps

    • Lead development and implementation of medical operating plan on behalf of Medical Channel Excellence - that fits into the MEI and medical categories goals and strategies.

    • Facilitate Global MCE LT meetings to drive decision-making and issue resolution, including coordination of MCE town halls and offsite meetings

    • Represent Global MCE as needed to senior leadership on key initiatives, best practices, and opportunities to drive transformational change in channel activation, expansion, or sunsetting - as well as congress and ad board strategic discussions.

    • Lead best practice development and proactive benchmarking analyses to ensure Pfizer's leadership both internally and externally with medical communications best practices

    • Partner with cross-functional Medical Teams, Global and US Content, International Content, Data Analytics, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment of communication plans with medical priorities and optimize opportunities for broader data dissemination

    • Design and communicate medical communication metrics to evaluate and refine the progress of Medical Channel activities and transformation outputs of initiatives related to congresses and ad boards.

    • Stay abreast of country regulations and guidance that impact digital delivery of scientific information to external HCPs via global, regional and country specific channels (including Pfizer owned channels, 3rd party channels, congresses, and advisory boards)

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

    • Advanced scientific degree (Pharm.D, PhD, MS, etc.)

    • Minimum 13+ years pharmaceutical industry with 2+ years' experience in Medical Affairs/Scientific Publications/Medical Communications Agency as a content creator or medical communications leader with Masters; 8+ years with PharmD

    • Diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

    • Experience in representing a function within a matrix organization through a strong track record of excellent presentation, customer facing, and interpersonal skills.

    • Direct external vendors and manage budgets, timelines, and quality of deliverables.

    • Strong track record of written and oral communication skills to develop and present scientific information to varied audiences and articulate messages succinctly.

    • Quickly build rapport and credibility with key internal and key external stakeholders through strong interpersonal skills

    • Strong organizational skills to track numerous tasks for multiple simultaneous projects in a deadline-oriented environment.

    • Experience in global medical communications and understanding of applicable regional legal and regulatory hurdles - as this experience will enable developing and coordinating broader plans for channel execution.

    • Experience with omnichannel, including diverse content development - such as publications, plain language summaries, Congress materials, publication extenders, podcasts, and short-form articles for 3rd party digital platforms

    • Experience with understanding amplification tactics of scientific peer-reviewed publications, social media content dissemination, and Field Medical Channel amplification.

    The annual base salary for this position ranges from $191,300.00 to $318,800.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.     • The annual base salary for this position in Tampa, FL ranges from $172,100.00 to $286,900.00.
