    How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

    1 Responsible for strategic and tactical oversight of the Contract Flight Instructor program and associated organization strategy to include simulator flight time sales and subject matter expert resources.

    1. Acts as an intermediary for FOPs department leaders on issues and/or decisions required regarding fleet and contract Flight Instructor hiring needs.

    2. Responsible for supervising the support team responsible for the day to day support of the contract Flight Instructor organization.

    3. Develop and motivate high-performing team within DPS organization and building collaborative relationships with FOPs peers to drive productive sourcing and training plans.

    4. Hire staff, assign work, maintain employee records, set standards, train for skill and coach team members to achieve objectives.

    5. Coordinate contractual agreements, and maintain an agreement repository, serving as the Company's focal point with the Delta Law Department.

    6. Ensure newly contracted work is planned and ensure handoffs are efficiently managed.

    7. Set goals, maintain budgets, provide estimates, define metrics and assign work.

    8. Implement and promote continuous improvement throughout all activities.

    9. Ensures compliance and response to safety related matters, job qualifications and certifications, while providing viable solutions and recommendations for policies and procedures based on the current culture, history and vision of Flight Operations Administration.

    10. Coordinates policies and procedures with internal and external departments including but not limited to Human Resources, Crew Resources and Scheduling, Flight Ops Communications, Legal, Line Operations, Training and Standards, Finance, Revenue, Safety, Security, Government Agencies and more.

    What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

    Minimum:

    1. Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent operational and managerial experience.

    2. Requires experience in an administrative leadership environment with a minimum of five years of operational leadership experience.

    3. Able to handle day-to-day work challenges confidently, demonstrate flexibility, high stress tolerance, and ability to motivate others.

    4. Creates an atmosphere of open communication and conveys information clearly and effectively.

    5. Should be able to establish short and long term plans, effective decision making and strategic thinking, to build consensus and ablility to resolve conflict.

    6. Ability to listen well and convey understanding is desired. Able to establish realistic budgets, assert own ideas and to persuade others.

    7. Should possess up-to-date knowledge in the profession and industry, delegate and empower others, accurately assesses strengths and development needs of employees, foster collaboration among team members and teams.

    8. Must have experience with leading teams of technical people and managing complex projects.

    9. Must be self-starting, detail-oriented and an effective planner and project manager.

    10. Should manage implementation of change effectively, consider a broad range of internal and external factors when making decisions and solving problems, foster development of a common vision, and able to make decisions under conditions of uncertainty.

    Preferred:

    1. Experience in Flight Operations, aircraft instruction either academic or practical, program and people management

    2. Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting tools

    3. MBA a plus
