    Robert Half is partnering with a local Non-Profit on a Grants Accountant opening. The Grants Accountant will be responsible for the full cycle process of the grants and take ownership of the grants for the organization.

    As a Grants Accountant with federal grants experience, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all financial aspects of our federal grant programs. You will collaborate closely with program managers, grant writers, and external auditors to ensure compliance with federal regulations, accurate financial reporting, and proper allocation of grant funds. Your role will be vital in maintaining the integrity of our grant accounting processes and ensuring the organization's financial stability.

    Key Responsibilities

    Grant Accounting and Reporting

    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for federal grants.

    • Monitor grant budgets and expenditures to ensure compliance with grant guidelines and regulations.

    • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for grantors and internal stakeholders.

    Budget Management

    • Assist in the development of grant budgets, ensuring alignment with grant proposals.

    • Monitor and track grant-related expenses, making adjustments as necessary.

    • Collaborate with program managers to provide financial guidance on grant utilization.

    Compliance and Audit

    • Ensure compliance with federal grant regulations, policies, and reporting requirements.

    • Prepare for and participate in grant audits, responding to auditor inquiries and providing necessary documentation.

    • Implement corrective actions based on audit findings to improve grant management processes.

    Communication and Collaboration

    • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and data needed for grant reporting.

    • Maintain effective communication with grantors, addressing any financial inquiries or concerns.

    The Grants Accountant reports to the Controller of this growing organization and offers a great work life balance.

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant accounting, with a focus on federal grants.

    • Strong understanding of federal grant regulations, such as the Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).

    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
