    Robert Half is partnering with a well-respected non-profit client within the healthcare sector to find an employee relations focused Human Resource Generalist.

    Summary

    Reporting to the Director of HR, the HR Generalist will have a strong emphasis in handling employee relations matters and conducting investigations while also handling a variety of other general HR tasks to support the day-to-day HR operations. The HR Generalist will primarily sit in the Baltimore office (HQ), but will be required to travel locally 2-4 x a month for investigations, trainings, or meetings.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Partner with the Recruiter in facilitating recruitment efforts, onboarding/offboarding, transfers/promotions, and new hire compliance.

    • Manage employee relations activities including conducting thorough investigations, preparing disciplinary memos, and sitting in on disciplinary meetings.

    • Assist with performance management, documentation, action plans, and coaching/mentoring.

    • Assist with developing, implementing, and facilitating training activities, employee recognition, and career development.

    • Administer unemployment paperwork and attend unemployment hearings as required.

    • Administer the appeal and grievance process and make recommendations for appropriate personnel action.

    • Provide guidance or direction to employees regarding FMLA, disability concerns, or other HR related matters.

    • Maintain all HR and employee related records and information in the HRIS system with a high level of confidentiality.

    • Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field preferred; Additional HR certs are a plus.

    • Must have 3-5+ years of HR Generalist experience with at least 1 year of experience handling employee relations and conducting investigations.

    • Experience conducting investigations within senior living, disability, non-profit, behavioral health, or other healthcare sectors is highly preferred.

    • Strong technical skills including ATS/HRIS knowledge; UltiPro software knowledge is a plus.

    • Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel to locally a couple times a month.

    • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and education verification process.

    • Strong communications skills with the ability to interact with a range of differing personalities.

    • Analytical with an investigative mindset and the ability to analyze data and strategically plan.

    • Proven success utilizing strong problem solving and critical thinking skills to drive optimal performance.

    • Resourceful, proactive, and highly self-motivated with the ability to effectively lead processes.

    • Not easily overwhelmed with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.

    • Strong attention to detail, level of accuracy, and organizational skills.

    • Must be dependable and able to successfully operate independently with a high level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
